Leather shortage holdup?

I ordered my fully loaded Ocean Blue JLUR on Friday and was told it might take a little longer than 6-8 weeks due to a leather shortage. Has anyone else been told this or heard of this?!?

The dealership I ordered it from on Friday. Fremont Jeep in the SF Bay Area.

Well, this is the first I’ve heard of it. It wouldn’t surprise me at this point, given all the various shortages that this initial buildout has encountered. But, from what I’ve read, the wait is worth it once you get your JL. Good luck

I sure hope they just pulled that one out of their butt and it's not a real issue... Waiting 6-8 weeks is already going to be very challenging for a person like myself... Fingers crossed it gets here in 4 weeks!!!

I was told that too but my dealer didn’t seem too worried about it. I ordered wednesday in Houston FYI.

This is what my guy said: “We ordered it this evening….black leather shows to be on restriction right now but should pick up order Monday our next allocation.”

It ended up getting picked up Friday.

All these potential holdups for various options tells me that jeep didn't correctly anticipate such high demand. Which sucks right now for our wait, but it's a good thing overall for the JL.

I sure hope they can start getting outside parts in on a regular basis soon!

Actually now days they are ALL outside parts. Auto manufacturers should be called auto assemblers.
