I'm in total agreement with Ron--

I will only visit my local dealer for (friendship) or for SAFETY RECALLS--anything less , which cold tieup your jeep for weeks(and ridiculous)--I fix myself and-

In a 4dr, that "PUCKER" problem will be present NO MATTER HOW LONG--(as I've said)--so gitta like colored seat cover, blanket for the full seat bottom--and

Fair point. You're using the shop as an unbiased, professional opinion, not for the actual work. At least if you go the upholstery shop first, you'll have a specialized opinion on whether the wrinkling is normal or not.

Disregard my last post. This is a better idea than I originally thought. :like:

picked up my new Sahara Dec 28th, my daughter has sat in the back twice. I notice that the leather on the seat looks loose, puckering this isn’t normal is it? I’ve never had leather seats before.

Maybe you can send a message to @Katzkin and ask their opinion. I believe they are the OEM supplier of your leather.

Just got back from the dealership, the lady at the desk took pictures and said a claim will be put in and IF I’m approved they will most likely replace the leather. So I said what if it’s not approved and she said “well you’ll have to cover the cost for repairs yourself” Such bull$shit, seriously, one week old and I might have to pay for their shitty leather work. Not happy

I had the same problem in my ‘17 grand Cherokee. A few weeks after I bought it the drivers seat did that. Jeep dealer had the seat reupholstered under warranty.

I haven't seen a single JL that doesn't look like this.

Would love to hear any updates from people that have made a claim. I have the same issue on both front seats (Jeep is 7 months old, but the issue presented itself immediately). I’ve been driving it without caring and still don’t care much, but it is quite noticeable and I was wondering why it was doing that. Raising a stink? Nope. Limiting my enjoyment of my JLUR? Nope. But if its something that should be addressed and under warranty, why not address it (one way or another, as several posts have offered different good ideas) now before it becomes more significant.

You purchased the recall part # and installed it? Dealers and not supposed to sell recall parts. If you didnthis on yout own how does the manufacturer know its been done?

Out of curiosity, is your daughter still in a child seat, or sitting directly on the seat itself? One of my vehicles with leather interior looks similar, but that was due to having a child seat buckled down tightly to the child seat anchors for an extended period of time.

Unfortunately, the seat quality overall including the leather quality in jeeps is sub part to the rest of the entire car industry. I have brand new Moab only couple months old and I have the same issue on my drivers side front seat. Its mind numbing that a $50K vehicle has such poor quality materials and seat design.
