While inconvenient, this is hardly a warranted complaint.

It’s actually a very common issue right now that a lot of owners are not aware of unless they crawl under their own rigs my front driver shock is leaking and it was just by chance I crawled under to check everything. The dealer has ordered one but said it’s on major back order

Does the leak leave any marks/puddles on the ground or you only see it if you crawl under and check?

Poor quality control from the part vendor that Jeep uses. I believe it is a very warranted complaint, it’s 100% reasonable to expect any new vehicle to be defect free. The quality control on these Jeeps is poor. That’s not even up for debate. It’s a variety of different quality issues that are not rare one-off things.

While it sucks to be inconvenienced like this, the good news is that this is one of the things that actually can be fixed and rather easily. If your inclined, you might be able to find a new take off part from someone who’s upgraded to aftermarket or Rubi suspension who’ll sell you the part cheap or free. It takes less than 20 min to swap out.

Dorcas, anything man made with thousands of parts, many outsourced, will have problems from time to time. The shocks on your Jeep are probably one of those parts, as I'm sure FCA doesn't built shocks. That manufacturer also uses humans, and outsourced parts to built their shocks. So, like any other thing with moving parts you buy, it can have a problem. Don't let that one shock sour you on your Jeep. It will be replaced, and you'll be good to go. Enjoy your new toy.

Front passenger side shock leaked on mine. I only noticed because I was under there removing the air dam. Dealer replaced under warranty of course.

Good time to upgrade to something better. $50 ea Rancho RS5000x are and improvement on the stock shocks. You can spend more if you want, but it doesn't take much to get a better shock than OEM.

Sorry for the delay in response but it does not leave a puddle or mark on driveway. I have been going through car washes on a normal basis lately though.

Thanks. I will inspect mine just to make sure.
