I love doing little projects like this - years ago one of my counselors told me men tend to do better when they're building something with their hands and that certainly applies to me.
I started with 4x1/8" flat bar because I wanted to mimic the radius of the factory mount....I figured the best way given my tools was to bump form it with a series of small brakes in my import 48" finger brake.
Of course using tooling limitations in the selection of material (thickness) is less than ideal, but these little brakes can just barely bend an 1/8" thickness at 4" wide
Anyway here's a couple shots of my blanks and bend lines laid out. I broke each line just until the mill scale flaked (incredibly scientific), and with just 1 or 2 test fits per side got lucky. Better to be lucky than good, they say....
