Me as well!
Yup. I'm on my eighth ETA since hitting KZ:

03/22/2018 - 03/26/2018
03/25/2018 - 03/29/2018
03/29/2018 - 04/02/2018
04/01/2018 - 04/05/2018
04/04/2018 - 04/08/2018
04/07/2018 - 04/11/2018
04/06/2018 - 04/10/2018
04/09/2018 - 04/13/2018

I know it's an "estimated" time of arrival, that's pretty ridiculous.

Me either. I’m only 6wks in and I’m not upset (yet), just excited. My guess is it didn’t make a train they had assumed it would, the slipped timeline is (maybe?) based on the schedule of the next train they are thinking it will make.

How much of yours was in Toledo waiting to leave vs at your local distribution center?

Has anyone seen this before.
After my Jeep was built, it sat in Toledo for a while, it was moved to Swanton and sat there for a while, it was moved back to Toledo for another week, then shipped to Detroit where it has been since 4-4.
Any idea why it went to Detroit? Supposed to be coming down to Texas.

Nope. I haven’t, but there really hasn’t been any rhyme or reason to the shipping/storage debacle.

Ordered 3 months ago today. About 4 weeks ago, I was told that it would be here by 04-06-2018. I called about a week out and they told me it was delayed. I just checked on the chat a moment ago, and I was told that "my ETA was TBD"...HA!

Jeep has really dropped the ball on the shipping of these new Jeeps...so many problems and issues.

Same here, although I had an ETA of 3-22...now it's TBD

Just heard from my dealer. He said the following:

“Still in KZS status . Wednesday our District Manager said it is all because of rail car shortages. Its delaying everything across the US. We are trying to find out a ETA but not having any luck so far! I apologize. I know this is frustrating and It's making me want to pull my hair out!”

Looks like I’ll be waiting some more...
Yes, I did hear that at one point in time... Crazy how much conflicting information we receive... My dealer told me earlier this week that it was still on-track to be here this weekend, even though the spreadsheet and Jeep Chat said ETA as TBD... But today, seems the story has changed, and now I'm TBD with my dealer, Jeep Chat, and the spreadsheet...
I’m wondering if I should tell my dealer that if he has no news by the end of next week, then I’m canceling? On the 4-10, it will be two weeks since my shipping was expedited and my salesman said it should be in by then. What do you guys think?
Hello everyone,
Please know that we are aware that our customers are experiencing these shipping delays. Railyards are congested and our Logistics team is working closely with the transportation companies to clear this situation up.

This is the email I got a couple weeks ago. I understand the words, but not the entire meaning. Probably means that I'm going to have to buy a different car before my wife makes me move to a different bedroom. ;)

Team,

The dealers are starting to really feel the impact of the rail car shortage, and we are getting increasing amounts of requests to expedite. Simply put, there are not enough rail cars to handle all the shipments of cars nationwide.

Going to be this way until at least June. We will be tracking aged sold orders this month to see if we can get them on track, but realize that there is significant delays. I will be covering it again on my call, but make sure dealers understand.

Short story is the Rail Car companies cut employees and # of Rail cars in service, and then charged higher transportation costs to boost profits. This was in response to poor profitability and Steel Tariffs expected this year. So they created most of the pinch we are facing.

  • Wrangler have LONGER in transit time – add at least a month – they have to go through containment (luckily no major issues at all – but still a delay as it is still early launch) and they are in storage lots / rail yards all over Toledo. Sold are being prioritized but we are trying to get the longer hold units released. They have to pick units out of a storage lot that is buried 10 – 20 rows deep. Very slow going. They are direct trucking some units as able.
  • Mexico Units are HIGHLY delayed. HD Crew are being put on Boat for Arizona dealers to help alleviate the issues. Cab Chassis and 4500/5500 have to be railed so they are sitting for long periods of time. Promasters are going Via boat.
Soon, another 10,000 LD diesel will be released as the certification is complete, and that will further stress the system.

Based on the 4/8 spreadsheet it looks like my JLUR has moved a few miles closer. It shows in Alorton IL at a location called racehorse. Based on Google search /maps. It's either at one of 2 large car auction sites (hope not ;) )or this Union Pacific railyard. That place is massive and has an area that is clearly set up for auto transport. The interesting thing is the spreadsheet only shows ingates/rebays. Nothing about rail loads, no status changes from KZ, etc. Only thing that changed is that it moved halfway to me based on location but ETA went back to TBD.
