Hey Guys,

Just picked up my factory order 2019 Jeep Rubicon. Unfortunately it pulls to the right, dealership said they would do an alignment for me in a few days. My other issue is at idle there is a very loud constant knock sound coming from underneath the vehicle. You can hear it very clearly on the passenger side of the vehicle including in the cabin.

I did search the forum and it brings up a plethora of threads on this, not sure if my issue could possible be the same though. I took a video for you to hear.

So what do you think?

I've owned close to a dozen of so cars and none of them made this particular noise.

How's the play in your belt? That tick, while hard to tell over laptop speakers, almost sounds externally generated. See if the belt may be flapping against something.

One more video, you can clearly hear the knock even from the passenger side door.

From the manual.
While operating on gasoline with an octane number of 87, hearing a light knocking sound from the engine is not a cause for concern. However, if the engine is heard making a heavy knocking sound, see your dealer immediately.

Sounds like mine. It's just a noisey engine I think.

Hi, thats my thread and we have the exact same noise.

I don't know if you read the whole thread but the noise did go away around 20 miles later, It started on and off but the noise started to disappear slowly until it subsided completely.

How many miles in your jeep now?
JC
I thought replacing one of the rocker arms fixed your issue? I bought mine new with 20 miles, stuck over 200 on it in the last two days and its still knocking away like crazy. Mine doesn't come and go like yours. People who have heard it asked me if there was something wrong with my Jeep....

I read that as well. I put in 93 to see if it would eliminate the knock, no results.

Is anyone else experiencing this same noise?

The dealer were quick to diagnose the rocker noise just by looking at it, gave me the option to disassemble the engine and replace the rocker or wait a bit to see if the noise went away on its own.

Is the noise present at cold starts?

How long have you been using 93?

Noise has been there since day 1 mile 20, as soon as I heard the noise I researched the issue, decided to put premium in it. So, first tank of gas premium. Noise is present at cold starts, and idle, its still present after driving for around an hour or so. It doesn't go away.

Took it to the dealership, they confirm there is an issue. Dropping it off Thursday so they can remove the valve cover to dig around. Trying to stay as positive as possible, this is what I get for buying American made.... lol. Even with this issue, after driving a Wrangler I realized I will always have a Wrangler in my garage.

*I'm surprised so few people responded to this thread. Do ya'll think I am trolling or something??

Dealership called, multiple rocker arms have play. They are going to remove the cams to make sure they aren't scored from the faulty rocker arms. Once everything checks out they'll order parts for the fix....
