Thanks for the reply. I sent a PM. Luckily my dealership has been great to work with on this problem. I'm just worried about my warranty since I'm almost over my miles.

Just jumping in here to add that my 2018 JL started making a clunking noise about 9 months into ownership. Initially the noise only occurred when making right turns, then progressed to making noise when turning left or right as well as during acceleration. The dealership has confirmed that the rear differential is shot. They said that it will be rebuilt but that it may take some time to source the parts. It hasn't been modified nor taken off road yet. Is a "rebuild" an acceptable fix over a "replacement?"

You are saving face ā€œJeep Caresā€ on this thread! Act like itā€™s all good...ITā€™S NOT...

You say vin numbers...this problem has bee since the very first 2018ā€™s until even now!!!
Get with the ā€œteamsā€ the ā€œpartiesā€ and do a recall. You admitted now Darlene you know about the problem so what about the guy that bought a brand new 2018 and just after his warranty goes out he has no coverage then the repair bill is on us the loyal customer to pay. Not fair, STOP PRODUCING FAILURE AND FIX THE PROBLEMS RECALL THEM!!!
What about all of the steering issues that folks are still having problems with?
The list of problems goes on and on.
We know why you no longer have your lifetime warranty plan on these vehicles !!!
Your over priced problem vehicles are now catching up with you. Look at how many are still sitting on dealer lots after many months and months now.
People are finally learning...the hard way unfortunately.

Go along with it people, take your vehicles in and document every problem you are having, keep going back and make them keep their promises, itā€™s not free... Youā€™ve paid your hard earned money for it.
In real life at the dealerships, driving down the road and out in the wilderness, FIND OUT JUST HOW MUCH JEEP CARES!!! I FOUND OUT JUST HOW MUCH THEY DIDNā€™T CARE. NOT ONE BIT.

Good luck to you all with getting a happy resolution to your problems.
These vehicles are the coolest off-road vehicles out there. People just want to enjoy their vehicles and not deal with all of the unnecessary stresses and inconveniences that your failures have brought to their lives.

By the way Jeep Cares,
What are you doing to change the bad rear end axles all of it now there is a known problem?
Here forward what is the fix?
Is Dana the problem?
Have you put a stop to all production?
Have you even made the aware, have they upgraded the inferior parts?
Have you contacted everyone of the dealers out there in the world to stop the sales of these vehicles and do a full corrected replacement repair?

Chevrolet at one time had a issue with their Camaro and they stopped ALL sales of that vehicle and corrected the issue promptly. I can respect that!

ARE YOUR 2020ā€™s GOING TO CONTINUE QUIETLY TO ROLL OUT OF THE FACTORY KNOWINGLY WITH THE REAR END AND KNOWN STEERING HIGE ISSUES?

I seriously want to know. When I know the issues have been properly addressed WITH A PROPER RUNNING VEHICLE NOT SOMETHING Iā€™M STUCK WITH WITH KNOWN PROBLEMS TO WHERE IMHAVE TO SPEN MORE OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY TO FIX YOUR VEHICLE MYSELF...ONLY THEN WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER...

Iā€™m ready for a 2020 will you have this faulty rear end AND steering issues properly corrected without a bandaid repair?

You didnā€™t care before. If you do Care fix these issues and post what you did to fix them. Post what you will do to fix already purchased vehicles that people already spent their hard earned money on only now to have huge problems where some of the dealerships out there only laugh at knowing they canā€™t ā€œFixā€™ INFERIOR PARTS TO BEGIN WITH WITHOUT PROPER QUALITY REPLACEMENT PARTS.

IS IT JUST EASIER TO FIX THE FEW MASSES THAT TRICKLE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK AND LET THE OTHERS FIX YOUR PROBLEMS AFTER THEIR WARRANTY HAS PASSED?

I think this thread should go to the General Talk page and pretty much everywhere because ā€œMOSTā€ people out there probably donā€™t know what they are in for...

Well folks, another 2 day visit at the dealership. I'm getting so very frustrated with this. It may be time to lawyer up. At the very least FCA should advise there sales people to make the customer aware of this issue(full disclosure). I WOULD NOT have purchased a $68K Jeep had I known of this beforehand. I'm starting to think they should have to refund my money so I can go purchase something else.

UPDATE: After waiting 105 days for the bearing kit for the rear axle, the dealer received them last week, but needed a shim kit for the pinion gear. They just put everything back together yesterday, but the the sound was still there.

The good news is, they ordered a new axle and will be at the dealer this Friday. I was afraid they were going to throw more parts at it and see what sticks. Hopefully, this will end this saga.

I would have waited longer if Jeep Cares hadn't put a Case Specialist on it. They were able to get the bearings within 3 days that the dealer couldn't. Jeep Cares is a great resource if you are having problems with the dealer.

I will report after I get my Jeep back.

Dealer called today. Replacing rear axle under warranty.

35s,Clayton lift, winch, front and rear bumper, front and rear Adams driveshafts... relieved. Not all dealers are created equally.
My dealer has been really good to me. Rear axle replaced twice now.

While it's great they did that, why did it need to be done twice?
No improved parts available yet. It will keep failing until new improved parts are out

When itā€™s replaced, does the warranty start over on the parts replaced?

Anyone have a soundbite or video of this issue? I might be experiencing the slightest of the symptoms that sometimes I think I'm going crazy whenever I hear the noise coming from the rear end..
