My second rear end has now started knocking while slowing down just like before. Service writer admitted there is a problem with them, but they don't know the solution. Part numbers they looked up still end in AA, so they are just as likely to fail again.

Are they ordering a new axle? New warranty every time so they should be replacing it. I’m 5,000 into my new axle and no issues yet...yet.

I'm hearing these same sounds while driving on streets intermittently. I have a louder clunking sound while turning front driveshaft, it is loud and I checked a dealer JLUR and it made a sound but not like mine. When I start jeep up, and put it into gear it makes a loud sound too while shifting to drive and back and forth from neutral and drive and reverse, like hard shifting. I thought it was just because it was cold but it happens when it is warmed up too. This is my third Jeep, second Rubicon.
Im afraid to do any off roading at all which sucks because why am I paying for a Rubicon or a Jeep for that matter. I took it by the dealership and they told me it sounds normal but if it continues bring it in, I'm waiting for a rear window as part of a warranty issue I might just drop it off then and have them check it out. I had plans this summer too.

the clunking when you shift between drive and reverse could be an indication that you need to lube the drive shaft. I've been hearing a little of that lately too and need to buy some grease. my 4Runner would start clunking every 6 months until I greased the driveshafts. could set my calendar by it.

Thanks for your response. I did a little test today, the noise shift stop after jeep warms up for the most part and it could be normal. The clunking in the front axle dif is definitely louder than it should be, it sou ds like the front fears have too much lash in them. I'm gonna record a video.

I have a 2018 JL Sahara with D44/LSD and it makes knocking noise when the vehicle is coasting at around 20 to 40 MPH. It goes away when accelerating. I scheduled an appointment with the dealer to get it looked at in a couple of days, but from what I've seen from this thread, it doesn't look promising.
