That is a great deal. Want to take a set of 37s off me that only have 91 miles on them so I can upsize? It says min. order qty is 4, so hopefully they honor that price for the whole set, worth the wait if it's not too long
If you can get me a "killer deal" on a re-gearThat is a great deal. Want to take a set of 37s off me that only have 91 miles on them so I can upsize?
Parts arenât expensive. And youâre more than capable to perform the labor! If you can get me a "killer deal" on a re-gear
Apparently he missed the part regarding the 8 speed auto!Parts arenât expensive. And youâre more than capable to perform the labor!
I was out and about today and near a major driveshaft, gear, and transmission shop in Houston. I figured Iâd stop in to see if âbuying localâ would cost less than a new driveshaft from Adams or Tom Woodâs. About $750. OK...
So I ask whatâs a ballpark cost to regear to a JL Rubicon with 8 speed auto to 4.88 or 5.13 gears since I now have 37â tires. Without missing a beat the guy asks why Iâd want to gear my Jeep like that. Huh? He says with a straight face that if I regear to 4.88 Iâd be running at almost 4000 RPM at 70 mph.
I said thanks and left. This is not the shop for me.
I made sure to stress that. I even told him specifically that itâs a JL that has the ZF 8 speed automatic transmission, not a manual transmission and not a JK automatic transmission. He stood by his ignorance.Apparently he missed the part regarding the 8 speed auto!
You made the right decision!
