With how big it is, it should have been at least made to also be a battery back up for mobile devices..

Screw it. I am just going to leave it in my Jeep. I'm getting a manual so no thief will be able to drive it.

Hahaha exactly !
And it will be my first Jeep so Iā€™m not sure about that, but if on top of being a Manual you can also leave the transfer case lever on Neutral, itā€™s not going anywhere !!! Lol

I've been looking at the base Sport too. I found a couple power lock kits that were made for JKs and they were pretty cheap. The key fobs are normal sized. Hopefully someone comes out with one for the JL and I can hide that giant fob in the vehicle somewhere. I just want keyless entry and don't want to pay $3,000 more for an "S" package.

Thanks for the idea. I didn't know that was possible.

Battery out of the fob?

Would this method work to start the engine if you remove the battery from the fob?

As I understand from the above comments, the fob may contain a hidden key. If so, would that be a key to unlock the JL or JLU? If not, why does the JL/JLU have they key slot on the door?

For anyone that has one already, is it too big to fit in a fanny pack?
