So originally I was going to go with the painted top, but now I am considering going with the black hard top.
How much work does it take to keep looking new?
Does it fade or anything?

So should I wax the non bony matched top like I do the rest of the Jeep?

It should stay looking good for a long time. This is my first black hard top and I’ve only had it a few months. Last Jeep had a grey top, but it didn’t fade. I use 303 on the top and the fender flares.

I also use 303 and feel it does a good job protecting things. I’ve used it on a few different vehicles and applications.

Its fiberglass with paint, but it has some texture. I would think any wax product that does not leave a pasty white haze that is easy to buff off would work fine, or a detailing type spray that wipes off easily with little buffing required.

I was told by a local detail shop that there is a new ceramic like coating designed to use the Jeep hardtops, they offered to to use mine as a test however mine is off right now for the summer.

I use Zaino on my hardtop just like I do on the rest of the painted parts of my Jeep.

Did Zaino change the tint or flatness of the top? I am a huge Zaino fan but wasn’t sure about using it on the flat black top.

Not noticeably. It may be a tad shinier but overall it is still matte/satin.
