You must like the cold weather.First long road trip in the orange beast was 2 weeks ago, Allentown, PA to Surfside Beach, SC. In the morning, I am about to embark on a 3k+ mile journey. I'm heading to Northern Michigan to travel the coastlines for 7 days, camping in the Jeep. Starting with Eagle Harbor, making my way around Lake Superior, down to Lake Michigan and ending up along Lake Huron. This will be my first time around the Great Lakes, usually, I spend a week each year visiting the coasts of Maine and Canada, New Brunswick, Quebec, Prince Edward Island. Perhaps I'll see some fellow forum members on my travels.
If you are curious about my past trips, I'll leave you with this link to have a look. https://www.ballardphotos.com/Street-Scenes

Oh.. completely missed that.August, 2019,the date of the thread, cold ?
We had a friend who had a cabin in L'Anse. We have been to the Gay Bar too. There is a Fish restaurant in or Houghton That is better known for its Garlic Burger. The best Burger I ever had. Cant remember the name. Love that part of Michigan and its U-ppers.Ugh, I didn't see this until now. I made it to the UP yesterday and when I drove through Marquette, it rained the entire time until I reached Eagle Harbor. The rain stopped, and fog stayed high enough to grab a couple shots of the light house.
I met up with friends who have a sense of humor, we had dinner at the Gay Bar. Which by the way has a pretty funny menu. Ended up camping out in the Jeep at Big Bay. Took a tour of Lake Superior on a Pictured Rock boat ride, the water looks incredible. I even found Christmas today. Shooting maybe Milky way tonight at Big Bay, then heading out for a 2am charter boat exploring Lake Superior and grabbing a sunrise. Wednesday I'll be in the Mackinaw area.
Keep the suggestions coming, I may have a make a return trip.
