We're thinking of getting the Gen 3 Sliders as well, do you know how deep the top step is, the part that can be used as a step when the retractable step is closed, we're trying to see if our dogs'll be able to use it to get in and out.

Not to be hijacking Johns' thread, but I recently measured this on mine.

The flat projection on the step is 3-3/4" right at the drivers door to 4" as you move to the back. If you add armor, you'll gain another 3/16".

If you decide on ordering, I can save you 10% on anything RSE sells. Here's the link:

Thanks Steven, the step is great. I use it to access my roof rack and it's perfect. I am not sure about the use for a dog, but I suppose it'll be easier for them than without a step.
