Before I ask I know that you get no to very little performance increase by installing one of these. I just like the way they sound on the 3.6l engine. So basically I noticed that the k&n intake opening is way different than stock and I’m wondering if I should worry about water getting into it. I’m going to use the one that has the filter inside the box. I know around the opening on the stock intake it has some sort of rubber gasket. Is water getting into the intake something I need to worry about?

My guess would be it depends on how you use you Jeep. Obviously in deeper water would be a concern but I also worry about some of the larger puddles splashing up inside the engine compartment. Every day use, on road, light trails i would say no problem.
