What’s the max you have pulled with your winch? Ever broke the line?

You could have slid the end of the tre saver into the hitch and used the hitch pin to keep it in place. It would have been safer. Factor 55 has a nice book that focuses on safe recovery. I suggest you get a copy and read through. Lots of great information.

Great job. Your kids are getting an education and a childhood that only a lucky few get. :like:

I can imagine the local folks running over that pothole you dug for the tailpipe for the nest 50 years. They will be cussing the city folk that came through for years to come:CWL:

That room you showed in Tucumcari at the Blue Swallow is the room my wife and I stayed in this past March on our way down Route 66. Loved the little pink stove.

Best,

Tie off the Jeep to a tree or use energy rope for tugging. Use frs radios for communication. Double the line back to the Jeep with a snatchblock.

You are not really pulling 10k with the winch. It's probably closer to 2k lbs of pull on a smooth surface like that. The trailer ramps might have been useful as a Maxtrax.

For way out communications also recommend a cellphone booster. Ham radio too. Download offline Google maps for any areas you will be visiting.

Thanks for sharing.
