Just over 1k miles and suddenly hard shifting?

We are at just over 1000 miles and all of the sudden the 2019 JLU Sport is shifting hard when you slow and it shifts down to 1st gear. Also, going up into 2 seems to be similar.

Called a local dealership and they can't look at it for almost 3 weeks. What's the best course of action in this situation? Should we rent a car on our own dime and leave the Wrangler sitting there? Interested if anyone else has had a situation like this.

I was able to get the vehicle in with another dealer 30 minutes away. They've diagnosed it as a faulty transmission solenoid which accounts for the problems that we noticed. The vehicle was "shuddering" and shifting hard when coming to a complete stop and seemingly shifting too early or too late around gears 1-3.
