Headed back into the Jeep world. Purchased my last Jeep, a brand new 2010 2 door Sahara, auto, cloth seats, dual tops for $27k. Just ordered a 2022 JLU Willys, pretty much loaded up with 2.0/auto/dual tops/tow/convenience/audio group/cold wthr pkg/safety group etc at MSRP of just under $54K. Hoping to take advantage of a couple of $500 rebates for veterans and first responders at pick up time.
I'm currently driving my beloved 4Runner TRD PRO and it'll be hard to give her up but we live down by the beaches and do some beach driving and wanted to have some fun with the top and doors off. I actually have a Bronco on order as well. I ordered on 12/8/21 and was originally told 4-6 months. After over 4 months of zero communication from Ford and my dealer, my salesperson just shrugs her shoulders and says "who knows" about the possibility of even receiving it this year. The entire rollout by Ford has been a complete sh*t show. The whole top fiasco with the Bronco has me worried as well. The soft top looks loose and I'll fitting and I can't deal with the wavy rear windows. The hard top has not worked out well to this point either. Ford is already on its second revised version.
Anyway....I ordered my Wrangler from a small family owned dealership near my home. Nice people and very easy to work with. My salesman tells me I should have it in three months, by July, but I have my doubts. I just have small, $500 refundable deposits on each vehicle so we'll see how this crazy market plays out.
