Just installed Sky one touch retractable power soft top

It's been a while since anyone posted in this thread, so I hope my question will get some traction. I just bought a JL Sahara Unlimited, and I want to install the Sky Top on it. I've got the parts diagrams, with a list of part numbers, but I'm not entirely sure that I will actually need all of these parts. If I have to buy them individually, it will cost upwards of $6000, which seems high by any measure. Can any of you that have already installed a Sky Top give me direction about whether or not this part list is complete, incomplete, or possibly excessive?

Don't go this route, call your local LKQ and find a take off top of 1,700-1,900. If I remember right, the list you have is some of the things you will need but not all. I got a quote from a jeep dealer for all the parts needed for the sky one touch and it was upwards of 20k. I will see if i can find the quote and post it.

Wow! $20k is crazy. I'm sure you're right, but I can't understand how parting out a $4k upgrade could end up costing so much.

Sorry, just found it it was $16,236.35. I can send it to you if you like. I thought it was 20k.....it was the start of the year, its been awhile.

No problem. Your above response was my exact reaction when the dealer sent me the quote...."how can a 4k option come out to 16k in parts"!!!!! I can't see Chrysler just giving us 12k in free parts/up grades!!!

There is a reason they don’t recommend installing it after the fact. The labor to put the thing on is nuts.

They ain't screwing me.....I paid 1900 for the complete top and installed it myself. You know the top that " can't be removed or alignment issues or the dealer tells you not possible"

Did you order the parts for the skytop from a dealer? I've been mulling over swapping on a sky top. I have a body colored hard top now.

No. check your local LKQ or just call the main number, I think it's in Chicago. They have the complete top off salvaged jeeps or jeeps they are parting out for some reason. Tops are like new. Mine had no dents or scratches just dusty. Bought mine and about 4 days later picked it up from my local LKQ.
