Just got rear ended

Just got rear ended coming home from work. Traffics was backed up and at a stand still I was last in line. Then an old GMC slams into me. The Jeep looks better than I think it is. I’m worried about frame damage. They hit my spare tire and I can see that it’s shifted as well as the rear bumper but it really has me worried that they won’t truly get me back to 100%. It’s a JLU Sport so I have plastic bumpers.

Check your tailgate, hinges, frame horns. My right rear side was off by like 2 degrees. Happy you’re not hurt

I’ll check all the mentioned areas.
In a few hours I will consider myself lucky. I was on the way to pick up kids but hadn’t gotten them yet. Right now I’m still mad. And I don’t want to get screwed over. I’m happy I’m not hurt as well. Had some Jeeps drive by after it happened I could tell they felt my pain. Gotta love the Jeep community.

Glad you're okay to tell us the story. Sorry to hear this as I know how I'd feel if my Jeep got rear ended. My Dad was a 'frame & front end' mechanic for nearly 40 years and I was amazed at how he could bring crash damaged frames back into spec on the 'frame rack' I spent all of my high school summers working with him and never got over how he could straighten what I would have thought was junk. I miss him and his knowledge every day.

Definitely have everything checked but it really doesn't look like any frame damage. Here's a perfect opportunity to upgrade the bumper and tire carrier. Good luck.

That road the speed limit is 45mph. I think he was going a little faster than that but he did have a long section of skid marks. Maybe he was going 30 mph. I’m thinking maybe he could slow down 15 mph in a couple car lengths. I was at a stand still.

I would consult a lawyer that specializes in accidents for my area. I wouldn’t go on record until then. You want your jeeps history to be clean.
