I just like the look better of the color matched top. Also, i've never had the matching top before, so that pushes me in that direction as well. Its really personal preference, go with what you think looks better. There are plenty of pics of both in this forum.

Many years ago, when I went to look for my first Wrangler. I was about 17 and with a very cute gal pal...

I went to a Jeep dealership in a bad area around Harlem, in New York City.

Anyway, was walking to the dealership parking lot thinking what color, etc. when I came across this thug sitting there leaning back against a Wrangler's rear wheel, drinking a quart of beer.

He told my gal pal with a big smile.... "Once you go black, you never go back"..........

I figured he was in the know as he hung at the dealership around the clock.. So, I did as he suggested and got black and never went back . ;) All my Wrangler's have had black roofs.

I voted black because the contrast looks good (purposeful) on most colors, however, I think The dark colors look really classy with the matched top and fenders.

I'm a fan of both, it just depends on the color and the overall Jeep. The only scenario I don't like is when a Jeep has painted fenders and a black top. Just looks like it's incomplete and a mismatch to me.

Ya, I like the black hard top as well. It's the traditional Jeep "look" and I really like the contrast it creates with the body color. I entertained the idea for about a second of getting the Rubicon in white with the white top, but all I could picture was a big white marshmallow riding on 4 big black off road tires! :-D Hahaha! Not that there's anything wrong with big white marshmallows... I guess I just prefer the "smore" look, white Marshmallow in the middle with the darker cookie on top and bottom. Oh geez, what have I done, now I have a terrible hankerin for a Smore! :-D :giggle:

For me the painted fenders and top are for the Sahara... the black top and fenders are for the Rubicon. Even with my black Rubi, I got the non-painted black top. Just looks more rugged and less luxury SUV-ish. But my previous JK was a black Sahara Altitude with everything painted, and loved that too. They're both good looks just go with what you like!
