Just bought a 21 Rubicon Unlimited, ordered the Mopar 2" lift, overwhelmed with wheel and tire options

Hello,

First post here, new owner! I get a company car, so my wife's rig is the only one we own. She had three 4Runners in a row, the last two of them TRD Pro's (Inferno 2015 and Voodoo Blue 2019) but decided it was time for a change. We picked up a stuffed 2021 JL Unlimited Rubicon yesterday, and I ordered the lift. My head is spinning on tires and wheels though, hence deciding to start this thread.

So, first off- this will be her daily driver/our "fun vehicle". Her vehicle gets about 5000 miles of use per year, so mileage isn't a concern, and tire wear isn't a major one. We live on a camp road in Maine, and have a pretty steep driveway. I ended up putting Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studded snows on it for the winter, and ran the stock Nitto Terra Grappler's in the summer. I intended to get a 2" Toytec lift on the 2015 but it never happened before we got the 2019, and then the 2019 had a Fox upgrade over the previous Bilstein's, but no Toytec was available until recently, so I decided to do the mods early on with the Rubicon so that it actually happens this time.

So, like I said, lift ordered. Next decision- wheels and tires. Shamelessly, other than camp road use, this is going to mostly be a mall crawler. I originally was thinking to get 35x12.50's or 315/70's, and either stuff them on the stock wheels or order wheels. But the more pictures I see, the more I like the look of 37's with the Mopar 2" lift (which seems to be 3+ inches when it's all said and done?)

Next set of challenges are this- I prefer the look of an MT, but an AT makes the most sense. However, being that MOST AT options aren't available in a 37x12.5, I don't mind the idea of buying appropriate width rims to mount the 37x12.5's on, go with an MT that I like the look of, and keep the stock wheels to mount a 35 inch tire more suitable for the snow- if there are no real snow tires in that approximate size, I could always stud General Grabber AT's or the like.

Anyhow, I'm pretty overwhelmed. If there is a great 37x12.5 option that is an AT that will be good in the ice and snow, that would be ideal. If not, let's look at option #2 of two sets of wheels and tires. And I guess barring that, I could just get 315/70 KO2's, as I have had BFG All Terrain's in the past and been happy with the performance on the snow.

Thanks in advance. Rim questions to come next.

You guys are brutal! I'm pretty sure there are plenty of lifted Rubicon's on here that see only pavement.

If it makes you feel better, I took the 4Runner 3 miles off road into my camp up north through 18" of snow?

I'd return the Mopar lift and stick with 35s. But that's me.
That's my set up now 35 Falken AT3Ws, curious why you said no lift. Was going to see how it performs on the trails this summer without the lift and decide on the lift.

Had couple of road trips with 35s and they performed great..

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Cooper STT Pros are a great choice for tires, and most anything from Mickey Thompson, their new Baja Boss AT is beastly for an AT-based tread.

I'm running 315 Ridge Grapplers with the Mopar lift (2020 JLUR). I went with 315's over 35's to save the weight (for now). If my dealer will warranty a gear change, if they do the work with Mopar gears (I have the Mopar extended warranty). Then I'll consider 37's in the future. But for my driving the 315's/35's work great so far.

Second the Mickey Thompsons. Running 315 Baja ATZs on mine and I love them. Performed really well in the snow in the little time they got to see it. Also have been hearing good things about the Baja Boss ATs

I see you guys so far are big on the 315’s or 35’s, I may still go that direction but I do really like the look with the 37’s!

Go with KO2 37x12.5. They. are more like a 35.5/36" tire. Light, great in the snow, smallest "37" you can find.
