I have been looking at sun shades and I think I have decided on the JTop. For those of you that have them do you have any issues with scratches? I understand they now use neoprene under the buckle but how about scratches from the rubbing of the material on the painted areas.

Thanks!

I did extensive research on this subject and there is a ton of info on the formums.

Long story short, I just purchased a Jtops.

I’ve got one and haven’t had the chance to install it yet. Is it possible to install it without removing the hard top?
I have 2 full JTOPS on both my Jeeps and no scratches.
I have had a lot of shades but by far JTOPS are my favorite choice just because of the design and padding under the straps.

Take off your Freedom panels.
Undo all HT bolts and store.
Slide a 2X4 under the front edges
Slide a 2X4 under the back of the hard top
This will give you plenty of clearance to install the JTOP
Unroll JTOPS and start at the front first
The JTOPS has a bar across the front that will sit in the two roll bar indentions (place where Metal Mopar grab handles go)
Secure the first two front straps just enough so the bar stays in the indentions
Continue to work front to back pulling and getting it tight
Secure all straps and buckles and enjoy

The top has a feature across the front with magnets and instructions tell you to poke the front edge into the front channel but I found this useless.

Because of the bar across the front I just flip the front edge back over the bar and it stays put.

This provides just the right space to undo your ST or HT latches without ever messing with the JTOPS again.

Awesome. Great information, thank you. Now if you could just get this downpour to stop I’d appreciate it.

Does JTops make an option for just the front? I'll never remove the hard top on my JKU, just the freedom panels. I know the Sunrider is an option, but I still want shade.

Just hear to further confirm the love for JTops shade! No scratching whatsoever and I love how much care they put into the product. I think they went above and beyond.

No scratchings anywhere... install is incredibly easy... @GreyFox ; I don't believe they have one specifically for the front, but I have a 2-door and I like that it covers where my rear seat would be. More shade when I'm fudging around back there.

Do any of you know if the Mopar grab handles will work with JTops sun shade?

Been reading up a bunch on different sun shades and JTops seems to be a great option for the wifes Jeep. Those of you that have it installed, is it fairly easy to remove/install the freedom tops with the JTop installed?
