Thanks for sharing. Just got one question: how did you put on the normal bolt & screws (M10) since we put on the bracket it will block the underneath... I am thinking of rivet nuts but I didn't order it from mopar. Are these rivet nuts come with special spec? or I may find a replacement from homdepot.
You must be referring to the inner bracket. You can just put the bolt from underneath and tighten it until you can feel the bolt and nut has tighten. Then adjust the bracket back to the position (closing the underneath opening) and just tighten the bolt from outside (attached pic).

You can still go for rivet nuts (M10) from homedepot but you will need special rivet gun for that. Which will cost you extra. Whole reason I avoided rivet nuts.

Does this offer any different protection than the stock JL steel bumper skid plate, or is it just for a different look? The tie rod is somewhat vulnerable and if this skid plate hangs down a little lower that might help.

So here the underneath of my Willys, I not sure about the protection, what do you think.

Thanks for the photo. Hard to tell but I think it’s about the same. I may try to get a photo from the same angle to compare.

Do you guys think this thing will work as an air dam for fuel economy? I have a generic aftermarket stubby bumper. I left the lower sheet metal brush guard in place thinking it was better than nothing, but I wonder if this would be more effective (aside from looking nicer). If I gained one MPG, it would pay for itself after about 1400 miles!

The plastic air dam does reduce turbulence, and for Snow Country, it keeps snow from packing the engine compartment.
If the Silver is the attraction, just get some Krylon, or whatever brand is formulated for spraying on plastics..

Bumping this old thread for more pics! Is it more a raw metal or a flat silver finish?

That’s the JT Mojave skid. The JT rubicon one is black. The JL rubicons have a black skid that’s different and mounted flush to the steel bumper.

Thank you for sharing.

I got the Mopar front skid plate for JL; it bolted right on without cutting or drilling.
I have been trying to get a definitive answer to this. I have a JL as well and I wanted to get the Mojave Skid Plate as I like the look. I know you need the brackets but if this will just bolt up I am good with that... Thanks
