Damn - gotta find a fix for this stuff.. replacing one every 3-6mos isn't a good option

Same location on mine 1000 miles. Happened in a parking lot while I was on the phone. I heard it and watched it happen. Frustrated and miss my JK.Happy Holidays!

It’s easy, just adjust your insurance deductible to zero for glass, and replace every few months. You’ll get a new windshield before you even have to clean it.

My last JK went 2 years with the same windshield and this one got cracked on the way home from my 5k mile oil change. I know when I replace it it will happen again.

It’s usually a possibly unnoticed rock strike on the edge of the glass that turns into a crack with time and the defrost working on the cold winter glass.

That’s exactly what mine did. It was obvious that there was a rock that hit after looking closely at the crack.

We need to form a petition for gorilla glass.
Mine got chipped on like day 4 of ownership which I’m sure will lead to spider cracks.. I’ve got USAA so when it does start I’ll just get it replaced for free but still a pain!

I don’t think Mopar has made it for the JL yet. On their site it says 2007-2018 which I assume to be for JK only right now.
It should have been a standard option on all models. That’s why we need to petition! Lol

My JK's windshield got cracked (stone) when it was barely 2 months old (while on a road trip from VA to AZ and back). I replaced it when we got back, but it got cracked again within weeks (another stone). It took 4 more hits/cracks over the next two years and since none were in the driver's field of view, it passed state inspection so I never bothered to have it replaced. I've had the JL now for 3 months and no cracks yet (knock on wood).

Not that I saw or heard. I was sitting in a parking lot when I heard it and saw it crack. I guess I was lucky in my JK. However, I purchased the expensive gorilla glass option for my JK. Hope they come out with something soon for the JL. The glass seems really thin.
