John Bull - Sat June 10th ***** UPDATED DATE *******

Love Death Valley! They just re-opened the road out to The Racetrack which I've been wanting to do for awhile. I'll be trying to get a group together for that once winter is back.

That would be fun. I'll need to get camping gear for that.

When I did it last year, I had my buddy in his taco pull aside of the road where turn off is off of 3N16 that takes you down to the gate keeper. Worst case is we meet at the start of 3n16 where most start airing down.. to keep the group the together?

It looks like 3N16 comes in from all directions. Can you post up on a map where 3N16 official starts?

I've been talking about a camping trip out there forever and my friends have exactly zero interest in driving out to the middle of a desert to go camping.

I guess I didn't realize it's like 45 minutes from Big Bear lake to the trailhead. I was thinking like here where Polique Canyon Rd meets 38 (which I think is also 18). At least that where there's a chance of some cell signal.

When we left last time we came down 3N09 Van Dusen Canyon road to the 38 across from the airport. (34.2659453, -116.8549036)
That was a pretty straight shot up to 3N16, then right for a little bit before turning north on 3N32 (that intersection mentioned) up to John Bull 3N10.

I’m pretty sure there was cell service just about the entire way down 3N16.
I don’t remember if there was cell service at the gatekeeper or that staging area right outside John Bull 3N10 and 3N32 where we met the bronco, so not sure what would be best meetup spot.
On Sunday after giving up at John Bull I ran 3N16 all the way back west to 3N08 above Fawnskin, then ran Holcomb Creek 3N93 near Little Bear Springs, then 3N16 connects back to the 18 as Green Valley Lake rd.

Holcomb wasn’t that bad outside of the middle rock garden, and that took me three hours because three other Jeeps got stuck. Just counting me and stacking rocks for the Gladiator I think I made it through the obstacle in 30-40mins?
Oh, and my wheels got pretty scratched

That spot at 34.2659453, -116.8549036 works for me if that is faster.

I think I didn't get service again till we stopped to air back up at that spot.

Damn. I don’t know if I’ll have mine back from the stealership by then. Dropping it off today and I’ll try to strongarm them into getting it done quick. What good is an appointment if they always tell you, “It’ll be a couple of days before they can look at it.”

Looks like it's already full. I imagine Holcomb campground will probably be full also. Oh well it was kind of a crazy idea. Looks like it'll just be another super early morning on Saturday.
