Odd, my Jeep somehow made it to me after I could no longer access it through this thread. I got the JLU Sahara Diesel - and I think the quality makes it the best Jeep I've ever owned. And, I'm an oldster who stuck with Jeep through the lousy AMC years. My first Jeep was a 1980 CJ5.

01-09-20 Ordered Jeep from dealer.
03-16-20 Last update on this list
03-31-20 Jeep delivered to dealer & picked up

May your ordered Jeeps keep progressing through the process, my friends.

Hunter
My first one was 1980 CJ5. Soft top then was a little different then compared to now. We didn't have 4WD patrol cars back then so I had to use mine to patrol during blizzards. Only deputy on the road during those times.
I once did a ride along with an SLCPD officer back then, probably before your time.

Yes, those were good times, nerubi.

I'm impressed you did a ride along. I've had good experiences with those.

My wife was a 22-year old volunteer intern when I met her. She became a Field Agent at the same time I was one. We used to hunt for fugitives together. That was 35 years ago.

During big snowstorms, I was one of the few who could still get to the office due to the Jeep. But, when I had an assigned car, I'd drive the heck out of it, regardless of the weather. 'Cause, why wreck my own vehicle when I could risk wrecking the government's vehicle instead?

May you and your family be happy and prosperous.

Base on several video on web on “How Jeeps are made”, it is stated that within the state of the art production processes, assemblies can be shifted and moved around to accommodate priorities and schedules. Do you guys feel that once start up begins, all “Order to Build” will be shifted to the front of the line, especially those in D1 status vs staggered within build for inventory? These are guaranteed revenue to get out the door, on rail, and to the dealership and to us the paying customer. Your thoughts?

I believe it’s been stated in reports about the reopening process, that custom orders will be moved to the front of the line/given priority.

I heard today that the plants shutdown in June to get ready for the 2021 Jeeps, what do you guys think happens if our Jeeps are not built by then, and what happens with the build sheets we signed? I am just curious if they haven't started building mine if it will be done by June, I placed my order March 3rd. I put my VIN# in and nothing shows up.

I meet a guy that works for Autoliv, they do the airbags and that's what he said. I was just wondering if anyone else has heard this.

There isn't anything in the news about it. The local UAW president in Toledo is still saying this week they are not going back to work until FCA can guarantee the health of all workers. Guessing this is just local union management showing they are thinking about their workers but if the UAW executives say go back they will go. If they do start up again on the 4th it would seem unlikely they could get all their suppliers lined up with any of the 2021 changes that quick. But exact changes for the 2021 haven't been published yet, one online source was saying the. 2021 was going to be 2" longer and 2" wider which would be a big effort and not likely at this stage of the Wrangler lifecycle. Unless the new Bronco motivates changes to the Wrangler.
Your dealer should have given you a VIN within a couple of days of entering the order. I don't think the plant closed until the 19th so things should have been running close to normal on the 3rd. Have you asked them for the VIN and order number?

Some good news on Wednesday 4/22 from FCA Toledo Plant news i have been following. Tone..(I too had order place 3/3/2020, D1 status)

There are employees working inside the Toledo Assembly Complex right now. Some workers have voluntarily been part of the effort to restart the plants. There are safety protocols in place, and they are able to practice safe social distancing.

Lt. Governor Jon Husted was asked about the safety of restarting the Toledo Assembly Complex, and he said FCA will have to comply with all of the regulations or they won't be allowed to reopen, and the state is going to be very firm about this. He also said the state wants economic activity to happen but also wants workers and customers to feel safe.

The Governor's office has cited automotive manufacturing as an example of essential business in the past, so the plant is able to open back up May 4.
