Why did you decide on buying a Sahara over a Rubicon?
Because Iā€™m a idiot. No this one was optioned how my wife wanted, itā€™s loaded only missing the fancy radar cruise control and proximity doors. The rubi optioned the same I couldnā€™t move the dealer a lot on the price there was a $8k difference.

Oh, wow! That must have been some ridiculous over-priced Rubicon. Nevertheless, I like your Sahara build!

Had some fun running tie rod canyon and angels peak in Vegas this past weekend. Metalcloak suspension works great on the diesel. Going in for regear, truss and lockers next Monday. Averaged 21.5 mpg going from AZ to Vegas which isnā€™t bad considering I averaged 11 mpg in the JK going from AZ to Moab

I'm going to be re-gearing soon also but I'm undecided between 4.56 and 4.88. Why did you go with 4.56 gears? And did you get 8th gear back with 4.56? MPGs improve with reagear or stayed the same? Loving the build by the way!

During break in (all streets stop and go no freeway) I was averaging 23. (20-21 before) now mix freeway and street from full to the light pump clicks at 16.1 ish and odo shows 450. This past tank it was 427 but Iā€™ve been stepping on it a little hand cal comes out to 27mpg give or take a little. I hit 8th gear at roughly 41mph, went 4.56 because few people in the diesel group suggestion and it works great

37s, diesel torque, and wheeling on Dana30? Youā€™re a brave man.
m210/m220 is ā€œd44ā€ if it breaks it breaks I do have tons in the garage and Iā€™m itching for 40-43s ;) anyways but I wanted to test how far these new style d44s can take as I wheel hard

The non rubi diesels come with narrow non locking m210 front, m220 rear don't they?
Yes they are narrow m210/m220 same as the gladiator non rubis. RCV gave me part numberfor glad sport for front rcvs

That's why in all reality the diesel option is a much better deal for non rubicon's, IMO. They get an actual axle upgrade while the rubicon just changes the R&P from 4.10 to 3.73 AFAIK

I probably would like the wider track when I go to 39x13.5, fitment would probably be better. I thought I would miss the low 4:1 I had in the jk (swapped rubi tcase in my old jk) but 4.56 with the diesel tq I donā€™t miss it in the rocks. Iā€™ll probably be stupid and buy an atlas if they release one with maybe 5:1 šŸ˜‚. There is one absolute thing I need to purchase next and that is hydro assist as this thing is not turnable in the rocksā€¦ well it is but itā€™s tough
