So, in the past 3 days I've noticed a "squeel" while turning towards driver, but only during a sharp turn of over 30 degrees.

At first I thought something might be rubbing, but after inspection while turning; I can't find any rubbing issues.

The sound seems to follow the wheel rotation and I think it's coming from the front driver area, but can't identify. There is no steering wheel feedback or rub Mark's on the LCAs, Tires, etc.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

Additional Details:
Jeep is a 2018 Sport with a Mopar 2in Lift, Anti-Rock, 33in Rubi Takeoffs and a RK Track Bar to re-center the axle. I've been running that setup for about 9 months without issue until now.

Thanks in advance.

Well one thing I've noticed is that it seems to be at the same location on your wheel/tire. Starts when the red Jeep is at 6 O'clock.

Really sounds like rubber on metal front your video. How about making a bunch of chalk lines on your inner sidewall and then seeing if any rubs off?

Any any chance you can mount a go pro facing the inner wheel? Seems to be in the same spot like Robaw said.

I'm going to chalk the tires in a bit. If that doesn't show anything, then I'll see about a gopro in that area.

I can confirm that it is only half the rotation as robaw pointed out.

Chalked the inside of both tires every quarter from wheel to tred top, but no signs of rubbing from them.

I'll see if I can charge and mount a gopro, but not too sure what it could be at this point.

The sound, which I agree sounds exactly like rubber vs metal, only occurs for half a turn while the tire is clocked towards driver greater than 30deg. It does occur in both forward and reverse. I guess I should check 4wd as that is one variable I've yet to try, but I doubt it'll be any different.

I have checked that there isn't a rock wedged, etc.

Update: I lifted the drivers front and turned the tire by hand while it was clocked at 32deg. The noise is isolated to this side only and seems to be coming from the joint.

The video below should show the sounds just as the second marked joint end comes into frame.

I'll be taking this into the dealership for Inspection first thing tomorrow morning. Hopefully it wont be too much of a hassle with the video and the ability to easily reproduce.

I'm hoping it's something simple like and gets fixed as well.

I'm beyond my knowledge at this point. Took the tire off. Shroud isn't bent, nothing stuck (mud, rock, etc.) and everything is tight/torqued. Doesnt look like a pad is being dragged either.

Hopefully I get to learn something new while it gets addressed.

Wonder if it could be the U-joint? Hopefully your dealership will be able to diagnose/repair without much difficulty.

That's my current guess. It should be under warranty. I'll update the thread once I have an answer.

Maybe it'll help someone else down the line.

@JeepCares I appreciate the response. I'll send a PM if anything is needed, but it loos like parts have been identified & ordered.

The Dealership agreed that it was the u-joint and has ordered a new axle hopefully due to arrive today. If everything aligns I'm crossing my fingers that they can get the part today, work on it tomorrow and maybe I'll have the vehicle back by this Sunday.

I'll be curious to hear what they deem the root cause is with only 14K miles on the vehicle, unless I just got a bad u-joint/bearings, etc.

The u-joint is on backorder so the dealership ordered and installed a new axle shaft. It was ready yesterday afternoon and all seems fixed.
Props to their quick turnaround on the part & install.

No real root cause other than a bad part.

Glad to here they got it turned around in short order. Hopefully the u-joint being on back order is not the result of a larger issue with failures.
