My daily driver is a 2021 JLURD. Rental on vacation last week was a 2024 JLUR4XE. A few thoughts:

Driving experience in hybrid mode is much smoother than expected given the clunkiness of the auto start/stop on my diesel

I thought the fuel tank on my diesel was small; 4xe has a ridiculously small tank

Love the aggressive engine/regen braking in E save mode

Open air driving in hybrid or electric mode at slow speeds is awesomely quiet; running trails in hybrid/electric mode must be killer

Fuel mileage at highway speeds in 4xe isn't great, especially compared to my diesel (I was in no way driving for fuel efficiency)

Hybrid mode is great for non-highway MPGs

Charging @ a charger takes longer than I anticipated (I drive diesels and have zero experience with EVs/hybrids)

Charging while driving in E Save mode is fast

Much prefer leather to cloth seats

Rental did not have premium sound and the difference was noticeable

Freedom panels were pretty convenient, but the constant scattered thunderstorms made me really miss my SOT

I enjoyed the 4xe more than anticipated, but missed my JLURD very much

Driving any JLU is just more fun than other vehicles

If you're thinking of a used JLURD or a 4xe and have questions, fire away!

I have the same experience.
Own a JLURD, and rented a 4xe for over a week.

It's quick, but my ecodiesel with banks feels more powerful for sure.
Also I got about 20-21 mpg with the stock 4xe (sahara) while my rubicon diesel on 37s was getting 24 mpg (banks deringer and PM).
I asked the hotel to charge the 4xe, but only seen it going to 91% at most. 100% only when not driven for over 24 hours.
The silence gets some getting used to, wasn't bad.
I know exactly what you mean when you missed your diesel.

If they’d sold the diesel 2 drs in the States I’d be driving one today. The hybrid concept is certainly ok, but I’m not really interested until the “E” range is up around 100 miles. It’s 20+ miles each way to town so I really can’t see it for me. Maybe if I lived in town within a few miles of where I routinely go…(and if it had 2 doors vs 4)

I love my 4xe. The silence of the vehicle definitely weirded my out at first, but I really enjoy it now. The thing I hate is when I’m in a drive through, or something, and FORM kicks in.

I commute about 35 miles to work M-F. In hybrid mode my battery usually last until I get to work. I usually have enough battery to get around on lunch, sometimes not. I’ll stick to hybrid on the way home and any after work activities like driving kids around to practice. On the weekends, or days off, I drive in elecetric mode around town.

All around I’m averaging about 28 mpg. If it’s really windy, or I drive more than normal that can drop down to the 24-26 mpg range. Some weeks I can get up to 29-30 mpg avg - though it’s hard to maintain.
