Stopped and auto stop shut off engine, went to go again and jeep died, losing steering, braking everything. started with Service power steering, then said, Service sway bar, then service Antilock brakes, then air bags, then electronic stability. called tow truck since wouldnt restart no mater what I trued. then wipers started going slowly on own, gauges started tweeking all over and screens went black, hazards stopped working and windows, door locks and key fob unresponsive. towed to dealer after being stuck in middle of traffic for a hour and half with no hazards!!!!!!!!!
So they gave me a pos minivan to drive WTF?? I told them I have RV spots paid for the weekend non refundable and ten days starting June 28th non refundable. Pretty much told me im out of luck because the rental company doesn't have vehicles that can tow.. I'm pist to say the least..

Don't let it sabotage your well-earned RV vacation . Make them pay .

pos applies to your JL as well . Document everything , times , what happened , who you spoke with at dealer , what they said , and THEN research your state lemon law . THEN , write letters to FCA , NHTSB , and your state attorney general . Make them pay .

Then , go and talk with your dealer general manager and service director , and document everything they say . Make them pay .

Rent your own rig from a company near you , and keep all receipts for your subsequent refund from FCA . Enjoy your vacation .

Damn that sucks.

I was offroad a few weeks ago on a pretty deep snow/mud trail at around 12k ft and the whole time my blind spot sensor light was lit. I just figured mud was blocking it. When I got down I switched from 4-lo to 2wd and I got a service traction control, service abs, and service a couple other ones all the same. I pulled over shut the Jeep off and started it back up and everything went back to normal. These electronics do seem to freak out a bit when they get upset.

As you were at an elevation of 12K ft., and you were deep in snow and mud , so much for the useless blind spot sensor , lol . Another incongruous electronic addition to a simple Jeep , lol .

Symptoms are similar to other posters that ended up just have loose/blown/bad fuses/relays. I hope it’s that simple for you and they get you back on the road, soon!

This is getting dangerous. Makes me really nervous with my wife driving. Don’t need her stuck on the interstate somewhere in rush hour with a brand new vehicle.

True. Maybe the aux battery also. That pesky aux battery seems to be the culprit for many electrical problems.

That is a good rant but FCA's max liability is to just fix what is broke under warranty, not cover whatever plans an owner had with a vehicle and the impact it has for not having said vehicle available.

Vehicles break down all the time and they never break down when it is convenient.

Mine did this same crazy stuff a few days ago. No steering, wouldn't stay cranked, showed auto-stop error, check engine light on...finally got it to work by starting with remote start. It shut off by itself after the remote start, then when I cranked again, it worked fine. Still showed check engine light. Drove to Jeep dealer, showed multiple code errors when he checked it. Recommended I not drive it. I had to. Later that day, engine light went off. No further problems. However, needless to say, I now have a completely unreliable new Jeep!

Actually that not entirely accurate. OP if you check into the Jeep wave program which you should have. They offer up to $1000 for trip interruption..Ie your on vacation and paid for some shit already. If not 1k it’s somewhere close to that.

Scroll down a bit. Says lodging during a breakdown. Lol maybe you could make it work.
