Mine started doing this a day off the lot. They replaced the pedal assembly and it went away. That was at about 100 miles. Today at 1800 miles it started doing it again. I'm hoping it goes away. If not, pedal assembly #3 is in my future. At least I have @JeepCares and the dealer should provide a loaner vehicle to my understanding.
A little update on my issue. As in my case first thing they did was replace the pedal assembly which had no effect. I have had this issue for a year I bought my in March 2018. What was the cause in the creaking clutch was the factory did not lubricate a couple of parts in total I have had it in 9 times for almost a combined time of 30 days. After about the 5th time the second dealership I took it to identified that part of the slave cylinder what causing the creak in the parking lot one of the techs popped it off and applied grease and the sound was gone and did not return since but I had been driving it with no lube for almost 7 months so I believe damage was done to the clutch so there was no noise but the pedal would be rock hard one moment and the next go right to the floor with no pressure it was so light. This made the drive like crap and shift like crap next they dropped the transmission and found the pivot point on the fork was also dry with no lube which they then greased in the dealerships mind all was fixed but the clutch would still drive like crap most of the time the others it would operate and shift flawlessly which made me more pissed because it should be driving that way since I bought it. I took it back the dealer drove it for 4 miles and did nothing else which they claimed the did more trouble shooting but I could see on the unconnect tracking the just went the 4 miles and parked it never taking it in the service bay to do anymore troubleshooting 4 miles wonā€™t even get the engine warm after I called them out for lying to me they took it personal and refused to find any more issues they arranged a week test drive where a tech was supposed to drive it home and to work for a week which was their idea but they said the tech who could probably kick my ass very easy didnā€™t feel comfortable driving it home where I could track it and find where he lives. I guess they never heard off google or the internet anyway the service manager drove it for a couple of days for about 10 mins on the highway which to my knowledge the manager was not a mechanic and they refused to acknowledge any issues. The entire time I have been working with Jeep wave on this finally after complaining enough Jeep agreed to replace the clutch components before that happened the service manager said he would gladly replace the clutch if Jeep approved it. So Jeep sent me an email say the dealership refused to replace the clutch because they canā€™t find the problem even know Jeep was paying for the parts and labor. The dealership wanted me to take it to a 3rd dealer to have them diagnose it and if they found anything they would agree to do the repair but at this point Jeep says they canā€™t force them to do the repair and I know why they wonā€™t they are purposefully trying to make it as difficult as they can because I called them out for lying I told Jeep I am not going to keep running around because they are a bunch of little girls for being caught lying. So it looks like the original dealer may do the repair I will know tomorrow. So the purpose of all this long winded post is have them pull the slave cylinder and see if it was lubed or not. If they missed two parts that I know of who knows how many other keeps they missed as well. Iā€™ll post an update as this progresses hopefully this helps somewhat and I wish you good luck.

I too have the same creaking noise.

Has anyone lubed that part of the slave cylinder themselves?

As a heads up I had my local deal look at this twice; they were not able to make any substantive improvement and I've just resigned myself to having a creaky clutch pedal.

After doing some research I have found that not just Jeeps can develop a creaking noise from the slave cylinder.

Found a couple different forums of vehicles with manuals that have a similar creak. Majority say itā€™s not a serious issue but rather an annoyance.

Iā€™ll see if my dealer can lube up the slave next time Iā€™m there.

Also, on the drive to work today it was about 70 and no noise even after arriving at work. So it must be only when itā€™s really hot out.

We can imagine why this may be frustrating, Timmybung. Please send us a PM if you decide to return to your dealer for further inspection and we'll gladly assist with that process.

Hi guys,
My clutch pedal started creaking, it's the return spring , you can pull it with channel locks and screw driver. Dont know if it's the spring or crappy plastic retainers as I could t duplicate noise in my bench vice. I greased everything before I pulled it and it didn't help. Without the spring in , I have no noise and smooth action. I think the spring is the culprit of the funny pedal feel that we have from new. Update. After messing with retainers, they stick when the spring is compressed ,the rubbing will cause the pedal feel and creaking for sure. this is a manufacturer part issue and I bet new parts will be the same. Thanks mopar.

Did removing the spring and retainer fix the issue? Does it function fine without it in? Wondering if I should pull mine.

Yep , pull it and see , you can always put it back on, I like the pedal feel as well without it.

Very nice. Mines not creaking or making noise but I do feel the spring every now and then. Just looked under the dash and saw the spring on the pedal and wondered what it would do if I removed it. Did a search and boom, saw your post. Thanks a bunch. Iā€™ll give it a shot.

Interesting read - as my clutch has started to creak (but only when its pretty hot outside). Great tips/tricks!

Update: So it has been about 4K miles since they replaced the clutch and it starting to act up again. I am going to throw the towel in and just have it lemoned donā€™t have the energy to start this back and forth with the dealerships again especially since the issue one again is intermittent.

My creak is 100% outside the Jeep coming from underneath. I believe it to be something to do with the slave cylinder. I took the slave cylinder out tonight and added grease to the spherical ball underneath the plastic cap. It is what some JK guys have done it looks identical. No need to bleed if you dont disconnect the line.

Not sure if this has fixed the noise yet. Need to do a test drive tomorrow.

Good luck.

I just removed the spring in mine the other day. I like it better without the spring in. Its a nice change.
