It seems this issue happens on mine ALL of the time. Hot or Cold---- High Humidity or not Humid - I am in South Carolina :). The entire pedal assembly was replaced by dealer -- WARNING lots of work and invasive. They say they dropped part of the dash and damaged the door jam. I would guess this problem lives in the pedal assembly because changing the assembly changed the problem a little - It did not solve it but change it a little.

Mine seems to have healed itself. About two days after I stopped trying to spray silicone lubricant in the pedal spring it got totally quiet. That's been about 9k miles ago and it's still quiet. My gear shift lever does make a little squeaking noise every now and then when moving side to side. It only seems to act up on really humid days.

Mine have an almost similar problem but it only happens when the vehicle is moving and I press the clutch to downshift, if the downshift is a little bit longer and RPM drops below 1200-1300, I hear a sound which I think is the noise that spring makes when is expanding. Anyone with the same issue?

Dealer lubed the clutch (they said they used silicone) and it has gone away. We'll see how long it lasts.

The spring in the clutch pedal assembly is super easy to take out. Just press the clutch down all of the way then pry to remove the spring. 2 Options ----1-------Don't put the spring back in ??? I have not tried this. ------2----- Put some grease, silicon... on the plastic valley on the top and bottom of assembly. This is where it contacts the steel rods on the pedal assembly. I still think there is an issue with the clutch system and it sticking.

Creaking clutch pedal.

Mine started creaking two days ago, and now occurs when pressing and also releasing the pedal, every time, whether it's a hot or cold day, and during warm and cold starts.

It's loud... I have to be moving at least 40 mph before the engine/wind noise drowns it out. Tried silicone on spring and any other moving clutch pedal parts I could find, but that didn't change anything.

From reading this forum, 'creaking clutch pedal' seems to be a common problem... anyone found a fix they can do themselves, or has anyone found a dealer that can fix it... if not what are we to do?

Expensive vehicles shouldn't do this. My old FJ40's clutch pedal made a similar noise around 250,000 miles, and it was a two-minute grease fix. An FJ40 was cheap.

Hi kirbyx,
I can imagine why this would be frustrating. I am unable to provide any technical advice as I am not a trained technician but please feel free to send us a private message if you decide to have your dealer look into this. We will gladly gladly assist you while your Jeep is at the dealer.

Mine started doing this a day off the lot. They replaced the pedal assembly and it went away. That was at about 100 miles. Today at 1800 miles it started doing it again. I'm hoping it goes away. If not, pedal assembly #3 is in my future. At least I have @JeepCares and the dealer should provide a loaner vehicle to my understanding.

A little update on my issue. As in my case first thing they did was replace the pedal assembly which had no effect. I have had this issue for a year I bought my in March 2018. What was the cause in the creaking clutch was the factory did not lubricate a couple of parts in total I have had it in 9 times for almost a combined time of 30 days. After about the 5th time the second dealership I took it to identified that part of the slave cylinder what causing the creak in the parking lot one of the techs popped it off and applied grease and the sound was gone and did not return since but I had been driving it with no lube for almost 7 months so I believe damage was done to the clutch so there was no noise but the pedal would be rock hard one moment and the next go right to the floor with no pressure it was so light. This made the drive like crap and shift like crap next they dropped the transmission and found the pivot point on the fork was also dry with no lube which they then greased in the dealerships mind all was fixed but the clutch would still drive like crap most of the time the others it would operate and shift flawlessly which made me more pissed because it should be driving that way since I bought it. I took it back the dealer drove it for 4 miles and did nothing else which they claimed the did more trouble shooting but I could see on the unconnect tracking the just went the 4 miles and parked it never taking it in the service bay to do anymore troubleshooting 4 miles won’t even get the engine warm after I called them out for lying to me they took it personal and refused to find any more issues they arranged a week test drive where a tech was supposed to drive it home and to work for a week which was their idea but they said the tech who could probably kick my ass very easy didn’t feel comfortable driving it home where I could track it and find where he lives. I guess they never heard off google or the internet anyway the service manager drove it for a couple of days for about 10 mins on the highway which to my knowledge the manager was not a mechanic and they refused to acknowledge any issues. The entire time I have been working with Jeep wave on this finally after complaining enough Jeep agreed to replace the clutch components before that happened the service manager said he would gladly replace the clutch if Jeep approved it. So Jeep sent me an email say the dealership refused to replace the clutch because they can’t find the problem even know Jeep was paying for the parts and labor. The dealership wanted me to take it to a 3rd dealer to have them diagnose it and if they found anything they would agree to do the repair but at this point Jeep says they can’t force them to do the repair and I know why they won’t they are purposefully trying to make it as difficult as they can because I called them out for lying I told Jeep I am not going to keep running around because they are a bunch of little girls for being caught lying. So it looks like the original dealer may do the repair I will know tomorrow. So the purpose of all this long winded post is have them pull the slave cylinder and see if it was lubed or not. If they missed two parts that I know of who knows how many other keeps they missed as well. I’ll post an update as this progresses hopefully this helps somewhat and I wish you good luck.

@TTEChris, you’re not alone and these guys have A-hole dealers too bud

Brett
Thanks for the heads up!

Sorry to hear about everyone's crappy experiences.
Following this thread for my wife who is also experiencing the same issues which the dealer claims to be related to her factory gears and bigger tires

What a nightmare! Makes my Uconnect problems seem minor. Except my clutch creaks too, so here we go, off to the dealer again.

Oh I have some issues with that as well but it’s has only happened once or twice a month where the interface will lock up and you can’t change between the radio and CarPlay and shutting off the Jeep and opening the doors doesn’t work Because the system is always powered you have to shut the Jeep off and After a little bit the interface will work again but I haven’t addressed that it’s so infrequent get the damn thing to drive correctly is my main concern I will say besides those issues I love it they did a great job with the new model.

Agree with liking the new model. Far too many issues though. I have also had to turn the jeep off, open and close the door to get the infotainment to work. Very Italian, thanks Fiat.
I unfortunately feel I have a lemon.

Don’t go looking at the bottom side of your brake fluid reservoir. there, with the manual, you will find a press fit hose connection—that hose is the hose to the slave cylinder. A press fit! Don’t pull it, otherwise you’ll feel brake fluid around its lip, and you may worry.

if you have an automatic and wondered what the heck the pressed flat plastic nipple is (same location above), well, it’s for manual transmissions.

Yea I don't plan to screw with it. I just want the issues fixed hopefully soon it will be but, the dealerships are just horrible anymore that really couldn't give a crap. As we all know these Jeeps are anything but cheap to purchase one you would think they would be aware of that and give a little better service.
