Driving up North last night, and I thought the low beams were not casting out enough light. It turns out I had no low beams, and I was driving with the fog light. Turned the high beams on and got flashed for 90 more miles... So my friends here, what fuse controls the low beam head light, and what controls the high beams. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Pull the cover off your power distribution center (fuse box) and read the lid legend. There will also be a relay associated with the headlights. You can test all the fuses without pulling them, through the two little openings in the plastic insulation in the tops of each fuse. Just stick your pointed meter probes on there.

I have basically the opposite problem, I have low beams, but when I hit the high beams, they flash bright then appear to be just the low beams. The high beam indicator shows the high beams are on, but it sure doesn’t look any different than the low beams.

The dealer has (Supposedly) looked at them, always during daylight hours, and says there is nothing wrong with them.

The KC’s on the front bumper, are the LED version of the 6” Daylighter Driving Lights, and technically “Street Legal”, and used as High Beams, and dimmed when there is oncoming traffic. The Cowl/A Pillar lights are the LED version of the Classic KC Daylighter Spot Beam Off Road lights.

Where I live I drive a lot of rural roads, well after dark, and I just use all four of the KC’s, and drive with my hand on the switches, and shut em down, as soon as I see headlights through the trees, or showing around corners or over hills.

So far, I haven’t been hassled by John E. Law, and it’s pretty rare that I get high beamed for them

I have no idea what causes my issue either, but the dealer says nothing is wrong 🙄

@Husky Man, are you pulling or pushing to turn the high beams on?

I’ve tried both ways, but the indicator will stay on one way, I forget which, but then they go back to dim.

You can see them go bright, but they won’t stay bright, regardless of what the dash light indicates they are doing

Try replacing the high beam relay.

I will have to try that, but it has been that way since it rolled off the dealer’s lot new.

I had the exact same "problem." Through careful analysis I determined that the halogen high beams were working, they just suck so bad that they aren't better than the low beams. The flash is just the moment while both bulbs are on. My 2004 WJ had solid high beams, so to make a 2022 vehicle with far worse lights is crazy.

I replaced my fog lights (no fog in the desert) with Baja Designs LED spot/flood combos and that works well on totally deserted roads.

I did the same when I got an aftermarket bumper. I salvaged the bumper harness for the fogs and installed Baja Designs Squadron Pro combo beams.

I have the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra’s in my 94 F350, and they are Amazing, I get High Beamed just running the low beams.

It is an unbelievable difference between the garbage stock halogen headlights in the Wrangler, and the Silverstar Ultra’s.

The down side to the Silverstar Ultra’s is that I get on average a year or a bit more service life out of them, with the driving I do( 22,000+ miles/year, much of it in the dark) with the winch on the front of the Jeep, that would be a PITA.

I had thought about changing the headlights to the Silverstar Ultra’s, but haven’t because of the relatively short service life, and the headache of changing them on the Jeep.

They aren’t Fun to change on the F350, I have BIG Hands, but they are Worth the effort on the F350 for the difference they make

If you are open to LED bulbs, watch this video. I installed the Morimoto 2 stroke for a while, then went to the SV-4 at 4:22 in the video. Could not be more pleased with their performance after several years now. Very well controlled beam and more light than I would expect from any headlight.

We had a similar issue with high beams not making much of a difference then the low beams in our 24 Sport S. The Halogen lights just suck. We converted to LED and the difference is night and day (no pun intended),

Thank You for that video, I am open to LED bulbs, I have been Very Happy with my LED versions of the KC 6” Daylighters.

I appreciate your evaluation of the SV.4’s, I am definitely considering the SV.4’s.

It seems from what I’m reading here, that maybe the dealer was right, and there is nothing wrong with my halogen bulbs, EXCEPT that they Seriously Suck

Just wondering what you ended up doing. I have the same concern about the low beams being brighter than the high beams on my '24 JL Sport.

I have just lived with it so far.

I use the KC’s when I want high beams, ya gotta shut off high beams when you have approaching traffic anyway, I just try to be extra vigilant about watching for oncoming headlights, before the vehicle is actually visible. So far I haven’t had any issues with John E. Law yet, but it’s rural and light traffic where I use them

I have been thinking about replacing them with some LED headlights, someone posted a video about different options, and recommended the SV.4’s. Between the video, and their recommendation, I am seriously considering those, I just haven’t prioritized them high enough on the project list or budget
