You need to take into account what wheel you’ll be using. Are you planning to run stock wheels or aftermarket wheels with more backspacing?
Stock rubicon wheels. I understand backspacing and offset with width and such, however I was just trying to see what clearance issues and coverage I can get away with.

Got black rhino overland wheels 9.5 wide, 4.5" Backspacing -18 offset with 315 nitto ridge grapplers. Sticks out about 1.5 - 2” outside the fenders.

Sharp looking. I'm getting the same wheels, though on Nitto 37s. Thanks for posting pics of them.

Just put 35's on my stock wheels on my non-lifted 2018 Rubicon JL two door. 35x12.5/17 BFG KO 2's. Haven't had it off road yet, so no feedback on any rubbing at full tilt (hope to get the Mopar lift on before I test that anyway). Doesn't rub at full lock on pavement. Spare fits perfect (steel bumper), with just slight rub when tailgate close- actually helps support the tire.

Love the look. How much “bubble” do you get with the new wider tire but stock rims?
No idea I've moved on from that combination a long time ago. I don't think I recall seeing any cupping of the tires. Those tires were the widest tire DTC said they could properly put on 7.5 wide wheels, so I'm assuming zero .

Thinking about putting 35's on my stock Rubicon wheels. Seems to me that the safe bet is to use spacers so you don't run into issues while off-roading. Would you still need the spacers if you decided to do a 2 inch lift? I don't like my tires to stick out very far from the finders and would like to keep them under if possible.

What issues would you expect to avoid off-roading by adding wheel spacers? The main function of wheel spacers for Jeepers is to avoid tires rubbing against the control arms at full lock (steering), they do not provide any fender clearance (flex).
You shouldn't rub on the control arms with 315's on stock Rubi wheels.

Thanks, wasn't sure if having less space in the inside of the wheel would cause issues other than steering.

How are the R/Ts compared to the KO2s on the road? Did the weight affect the drive ability too much? Is the road noise any better/worse/the same?

I had my Wrangler with 35” on the flex machine. Full 640. No problems with rubbing off road.

That looks freakin sweet. Question are they the 315's or 35's? Also are you using spacers?

35x12.5 and I think they put spacers on when installed.
