I believe the bump stops are for heavyish off-roading (I don't).

I installed these: https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/...stable-front-lower-control-arm-kit-0-4-5-lift

At Northridge, use code "sharktank" for 10% off.

I can't imagine that 2-door versus 4-door matters. I would guess you lose caster, after lifting, with either version.
Hi rickinAZ,
I know you mentioend you don't do any heavy offroading, but generally speaking have you noticed any concern or "weakness" in your tailgate with the added weight of the wheel/tire combo? I see you have the MOPAR reinforcement. No issues there? Per our other thread, I'm not sure how much longer I can wait for AEV to release their rear bumper/tire carrier.

I added the Teraflex adjustable spare tire relocation bracket to the Mopar reinforcement. The Teraflex unit is a very impressive piece. I've had AEV frame-mounted carriers on my previous two Wranglers, but didn't want to wait anymore. JL has been out for 4 years now - cmon AEV.

I am a believer in safe-than-sorry when it comes to tailgate weight. Very happy with my current setup.

p.s. the Mopar relocation bracket is junk - just a few spacers (which would be okay if it cost less than $100).

very good to know. I’ll likely proceed this route (teraflex carrier with mopar reinforcement).

Don't forget to get your 10% off for being a forum member. Northridge's code word is "sharktank"

We numbers guys need to stick together.

I can second this combo. Got my new JLUR last weekend. Ordered with the mopar reinforcement and had the dealer install the teraflex carrier. New wheels and 315/70/17 ko2’s and it closes smooth as butter and the tire is super tight against the back. No bouncing, no movement, no noise, nada. Super happy.

Yesterday, I added the Teraflex HD carrier to my Mopar tailgate reinforcement kit. Huge improvement! I have 10” wheels, -24 offset, and a heavy 35/12.50R20 Nitto Ridge Grappler spare. The tire stuck out too far and placed a lot of strain on the gate (I could see it wobble on rough surfaces). Because the HD carrier is adjustable, I was able to get the tire tight against the gate and compress the stock bumpers. Very firm now!

You're absolutely correct. Getting it tight against the gate is the whole battle. Some of the carriers actually include longer bumpers to reach out to the tire and stop rattles. Whoever designed that flunked physics class.

Just had a set, well five, Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed today on my 18 JLUR (35x12.50R17 load E). Had to add a relocation bracket to the tire carrier (RC) and it’s too high now. I’ll have to figure out how to lower it some. Looks great and feels solid

Coincidently, I also added new tires today.
Nitto Ridge Grapplers, I chose the 315/70/17 route for the wider footprint (marginally), stock Rubicon wheels, suspension, tire carrier, and tire carrier bump stops. Tazer lite and Mopar reinforcement arrive in the mail tomorrow for recalibration and peace of mind. Also to note, I did not have to adjust my 3rd brake light from the factory setting. It still sits perfectly on top of the wheel.

Have you considered the Teraflex adjustable tire carrier to work with your Mopar reinforcement?

Originally I was going to combine the teraflex HD tire carrier with the MOPAR reinforcement. However, since I'm running plastic bumper, I still have pretty decent clearance from my tire to my bumper. Also, since I'm using the stock wheels, the tires pretty tight to the tailgate. So far so good. Someday if I switch to a lower offset wheel, I think for sure I'll need to do the tire carrier. I'm hoping to avoid the tire carrier and still get the AEV rear bumper, some day.... cross fingers.
