Wheels/tires put on yesterday. Ended up keeping the -12s. Sticks out further than I would have liked but its not too bad.

35x12.5R18
18x9 -12

Thanks to everyone who helped with some of my questions.

I've always thought I didn't like the body color tops but I have to say it looks real nice in that gray.

thanks for posting this. I am getting method racing wheels and wasnt sure what size to get. Now need to decide on tires. Probably Nitto....

Just got the new shoes mounted! I love the combo. Yes I know it's dirty, hitting the trails in the morning.

Method Racing 311 Vex Titanium 17 x 8.5 4.75 backspace 0 offset
Cooper SST Pro's 315/70/17
No lift yet.

From what I have read it seems to be C.
If you go with 315/70 17 you can get C load range. If you go with 35X12.5 they are E load range. C's are softer sidewalls, so are not as rougher riding.

Looking at 35x12.50x20 (rims would be 20x10 with an offset of -18). Dealer is telling me they will rub at full turn, that I need a lift. They're also telling me that if I went with the 20x9 that has an offset of 1, I'll be fine. Anyone with a close setup? I'd assume if a -44 offset and 13.5in wide tire fit fine, why wouldn't a -18 with a 12.5?
The -18 offset is a problem because this puts your tire out further from hub. Therefore at full turn you are closer to inner fender well.

do you have lift or after market shocks? sits nice. looks higher than stock.
Nope - just tires and wheels. Had 3" BDS lift on 15 JK I traded. Figured I would try it like this and if I didn't like it I could always install a lift but
ended up really happy with the ride and height with just wheels and tires. I may lift down the road when more options are available.

No they're the Open Country R/T (rugged terrain). I work at a Jeep dealership and have lifted over 30 jeeps and this is IMO the best tire I have found for an aggressive look but durable and quiet. I got over 50k miles out of my last set on my 15 JKU and they were still at 4/32 tread depth, they didn't even start getting loud until about 35k - in comparison I have had nitto terra grappler in the past on trucks and after 20k miles I couldn't hear anything but the tires. Great on trails and the beach, however not great in the rain.

they are said to be heavy tires, do you think the added weight really matters?

No not really - The only drawback to the R/T tire is on rainy/wet conditions. The ATII is def a better tire in these conditions but IMO the looks of the R/T is worth the minor drawback. Also just did a Rubicon with BFG Mud terrains and was very happy with how it turned out. Initial drive is nice but not had enough experience with these to know how well they will wear overtime.
