In regards to the DEF question, I had a 2014 Ram 2500 with the Cummins engine that was my daily driver. The DEF crystallized on the tank and it had to be replaced under warranty.

The service manager told me that DEF is supposed to be stored in certain temperatures, as well as being used within a certain timeframe of production as listed above. This isnā€™t regulated when you buy it by the jug at a store. He recommended getting it from the pump at truck stops. I started using the DEF pump at a truck stop near my house and never had an issue after that. Good luck.

+1 on DEF from the pump. Itā€™s a lot cheaper and if itā€™s a busy stop, itā€™s fresher. I run a ā€˜16 Ram EcoD and I typically keep the DEF around 1/2-3/4 and then run it u til its low then repeat. Has worked well for 65k miles.

"That being said- I am getting a new warrantied turbo installed."

Ouch! What exactly happened to the turbo? Got cooked? Man, I'd hate to be the poor line mechanic that got that work order...I've looked and I cannot even find the turbo on mine...LOL It's gott'a be a huge job.
