The dash USB port used for CarPlay is dead. The one inside the console has power but doesn’t work for CarPlay. Am I correct that they use the same fuse so I can rule that out?
I just got the car detailed and it worked before then so maybe somegthing happened then.

Anything else I should look at?

thanks!

I don’t know…Fuse F102 is listed for the dual usb ports. Test that fuse and confirm its good. Then pull that fuse and see if the interior center console usb loses power. Start there and hopefully someone smarter like @Rhinebeck01 or @THAW will have a better answer.

Before tearing into it- connect the head to wi-fi and run any updates available. Neither of my dash ports, nor the console port, worked with ios 18 until the most recent update was downloaded. Now, the dash ports work. I have not tried the console port, yet. Anything is better that the bluetooth connection which disconnects about every 2 minutes.

This really seems to be a failure on Jeep's part. It seems to be an issue with the programming that does not allow for a "more robust" connection to CarPlay.

Both the front and console USB work for CarPlay in my 2021 - They should be on the same fuse as well - make sure you don’t have a bad cable or dongle .

This happened to me while traveling. I had my Carplay2Air adapter plugged into the dash USB ports, then plugged in my Magsafe Charger. it went offline and would not come back, was not able to connect via cable either, but both Magsafe and cable would charge. I spent 10 minutes, pulled fuse 97 and 11 (if I remember right) for 10 minutes to let the system fully discharge, then plugged back in. Everything worked again after that. Hope this helps out.

Thanks for all the replies. After some more investigation;

the LED surrounds on the dash USB are glowing which to me would mean the socket should have power but it neither charges or works with car play. Ive tried several cables that work in the back of the car or center console and none work on the dash sockets.
The center console charges but doesn't work with car play and im not sure if mine ever has.

Sounds to me like the driver on the dash USB board might be dead? Any other tips?

The LED surrounds are not indicators of the port's ability to function; they're just part of the dash lighting.

If neither of the dash sockets work after checking the applicable fuses, then the module is likely bad. Maybe the detailer sprayed cleaner directly into the ports?

I think thats exactly what happened. Ive ordered a new module which was surprisingly well priced ($32).
