Ok so first thing. I moved CB antenna from the back top of tire carrier (see pic)to the front bumper passenger side corner. Due to fact I wasn’t getting good reception coming up with all rescue equipment hi lift shovel sand base and basically not getting good reception. Now it should be better since my buddy was the one who had same set up and his CB kicks some azz. So The bracket I wanted to install came with half inch screws. Even making pilot hole, the screw wore out trying to just start entering the front steel bumper. Lol. That ended that. Got some nice stainless steel nuts(plastic inserts stay locked)bolts, and some lock washers. Lined up bracket. Made marks through holes. Then drilled size of bolts. Then attached it and tightened all. Attached the upgraded fire stick 2....5 footer. Today I’m going to run antenna cable to front bumper then attach my SWR meter and get a good or best I can out of it.

No offense meant here but your first problem is that it's a CB. I get that a lot of people use CBs for off-roading but when it comes to distance and reliability, 11 meters (CB freqs.) is just plain old crap. Second problem...you have a fiberglass antenna and unless you have a device that allows you to tune that antenna at the top, tuning it isn't going to happen. Your best bet is to find some sort of a hood type of mount...something that can mount along the side of the hood and use that. Your hood can be used as some sort of a signal reflector...similar to a ground plane antenna.

You may be able to find something better and more reliable at a reasonable price here...
