Solved the pinch weld with a Rubi-rail takeoff from a guy on Craigslist.

Wheels and tires were round 100 pounds each, reading on the forums, I knew the gate hinge would take a beating from the weight of the spare; so decided to pony up for the Rugged Ridge Spartacus HD tire carrier.

The lift I wanted was/still is way out of my budget right now, so decided on the Teraflex 2.5” spacer kit with shock extensions to fill the gap for now.

Steering got really squirrely after the lift, I thought a steering damper would help, so I installed the Falcon Nexus 2.2 Fast Adjust stabilizer. While a cool piece, it did not solve the issue; got on the forums and learned about caster, then added the longer front Teraflex Sport lower control arms and Teraflex Alpine adjustable front track bar. This solved the issue and the steering is back to normal.

Happy with the look so far I wanted to add a little contrast to the front. Decided on a flat black decal.

Spent 6 months deciding on what way to go with the bumpers. Finally decided on a stubby, then committed to the Rugged Ridge Arcus. Again, the winch I wanted (Warn or Ramsey) was out of my budget. So I opted for what I felt was the best value for my must haves. Chose the Rugged Ridge Trekker 10k, synthetic rope, with the wireless remote. I then added the factor 55 pro link.

The rear Rugged Ridge Arcus bumper was purchased direct since it’s not for sale on Quadratec till October. Added Quadratec’s 3/4 shackles to finish out the look.

Had to solve the license plate issue. Chose the Rough Country kit, then used the Quadratec LED plate light (liked how it had a factory connection) then cut and spliced a parallel wire up to the mount. I’m not too fond of the location, but it will work for now.

Wanted to clean up the look of the gas cap. Settled on the mopar solution.

It’s Florida and the Jeep was an oven. Looked at options for a headliner (Hot Heads) but settled on the Top Liner from Cover King, as it looks like it should have come from the factory this way. Temps and noise reduction are on par with their claims.

I am considering this same combination of Arcus bumper + Trekker S10 winch. How has it been working for you so far?

Very good so far, clutch handle does not like the salt so keep some oil handy to stop the corrosion. Otherwise it’s a great bargain for what you get.

Oh also, if you do get it, there will be a small loose wire that has no obvious home coming from the relay box. That is a chassis ground and needs to be attached to the winch. Not something in the instructions and won’t work without it configured this way.
