  • If the vehicle is locked, an alarm will sound if the hood is opened -- to prevent battery and hood theft.

New rear D35s stronger than old D35s.. but there is no rear D35 on the JK, so how is that at all relevant? Considering the fact that the comparison of the D35 to the D44 wasn’t mentioned, I’d bet it is weaker. If this is the case, I don’t see why anyone would get a non Rubicon JL when the JK is available with stronger axles and proven reliability.

Very early JKs had rear Dana 35s before they switched to the rear 44s.

But they don’t now.. so again, why is the comparison relevant? Why not compare it to the most recent, and better, JK axle.. maybe because it is weaker

Jay this is awesome info! :like:

Can you also check and see if the current JK bolt pattern will fit the JL Rubicon.

I'll be able to start Christmas shopping. :fingerscrossed:

there was previous discussions based on the leaked owners manual that there would be ventilated seats, any further info on this?

But when have alarms ever stopped anybody?
Better than nothing that’s there now. Nothing will prevent a determined thief targeting your Jeep who can flatbed it away, but adding barriers like hood lock or a Club makes the casual thieves move on to an easier target.

After all the rash of Wrangler thefts in So. Cal. where they first went under the hood to cut the alarm, and then either broke in an VIN coded a key to ignition and steal the Wrangler, or just took the battery, or the vented 10A/HR hoods, this seemed like an obvious required upgrade, even just from a PR standpoint.

Currently the Hood plunger is only for the remote start not starting when a tech/tinkerer is under the hood and causing harm; so this is a nice update, even if it won’t stop a ‘master’ thief.

The comparison is relevant because the D35 has a bad reputation for weakness, so saying “this is not our father’s D35” is relevant.

Making assumptions about its strength otherwise is jumping to conclusion based on no evidence, same as the while axle thread assumptions which turned out to be incorrect as well.

I'm curious, with the sub to the side on the 4 door, does the underfloor storage return?
