I've seen a few of these conversions online and I'm always surprised by the price. I'd think it'd be $10k to have a shop install an LS3 and they'd get the 3.6L Pentastar out of it maybe. Maybe I'm a cheap ass.
I'm with you man, it would be awesome but not at the prices I've seen. Engine being a few hundred to 8-9k depending on if it's a junkyard find or a new crate engine. Install seemed to usually be in the 5-7k range depending on options such as cruise control. But the 5-6k for the kit, which is a few brackets and wireing harness is to high for me. Great for those that can afford it, and great for the company that is able to sell for that price to make back any R&D costs. It'll probably always be nothing more than a dream for me.

I think they should make an SRT-4 like the old Cobalts and Neons. Make it 300hp/350tq from the Hurricane 2.0L. Then offer a SRT-8 Hemi 5.7L for 400/400.

I guess it comes with more than I thought, and weather it is worth the price, it's still to much for me. Great for those with the skills and tools to diy. I've read of a couple people that bought a kit, found a solid junkyard engine, did the install themselves and ended up with a badass swap for $5-6k.

So I guess if someone can put an LS3 up to the factory condition computer....that means programmers are not going to be an issue with the Uconnect firewall lol

Nice!

Interesting to see them running 450lbft / 610 NM mated to a transmission rate for 368lbft / 500 NM. Hopefully they are over-enginered. The NAG1 in the JK had a bit more wiggle room.

It would be nice to be able to option the 8HP75 HD version of the ZF8 for a gasoline build without tieing it into the purchase of the diesel, for just such conversions. :please:

Yaa, my thoughts too. That's 40 ft lb more than my Hemi Ram with the stronger tranny.

I'm with you. Hell, if possible for the right price I'd upgrade my 'vette to an LS3 and put that LS1 into the Wrangler.

Want SRTs? Dakota-Customs. :jk:
I have already asked Dan at Dakota Customs about JL in Manual 6.4Hemi, he said YES they are working on both Auto and Manual Hemi Conversion kits, same as they did for the JK i.e. Auto or Manual option. A Manual Hemi is the way to go!

A bigger engine is great, but give me a plug in electric any day of the week and I'll eat ICE's for lunch like I already do with my Tesla P100D. Once you go electric there is no going back. Can't come fast enough.

I mean I'm all for electric cars and I am a big Tesla fan, but what a disaster they would be in Jeeps with current technology. Maybe for the people who only use them casually and don't wheel them it may be an option, but given the power requirements after adding weight, bigger tires, etc electric power makes zero sense in this application.
