Updated Aug 22, 2017:

We have new photos taken at a FCA facility which show even more angles of the JLU Wrangler!

Here's what we see (let us know other changes you see):
  • The side view gives us the best look yet at the front vent/quarter panel design as well as the bolt locations for the doors and fenders.
  • Without the vent covering we can now see that the vent will help air escape from underneath the fender covers, reducing drag and enhancing aerodynamics.
  • The draped tarp shows the outline of the JLU's windshield frame and full roll cage frame sans windshield glass, roof, windows or doors.
  • Sticking out the top of the vehicle in a few photos shows what could be a detached Freedom top panel. If so, it shows big changes to the design and materials used for the panel. [EDIT: As noted by our members, this appears to be the detached grille seen in one of the photos.]
  • Around back we get a look at the new style door pull handles and spare tire carrier mounting points, which we've learned recently will be mounted 3-4 inches lower than the current JK Wrangler.
  • There's also a bonus shot of a taped-up front grille which show the shape of the grille slats.

Original post - July 27, 2017:

This uncovered body-in-white JL gives us a best look yet at the forward body of the next-gen Wrangler!

Revealed here are the fender LED light strips which are flanked by a yellow light/reflector element around the wheel arch. The exposed hood latches appear to be more robust with a metal rung design instead of the current rubber bungee-style closure.

A look at the exposed wheel well also shows the lack of any air pass-through to the expected fender vent, although it's still possible the fender vent will help vent the engine compartment.

Nice additional styling on the flare itself also.

A Sturdy over-center METAL hood latch ! Neatly covered in the closed position by its cover piece.
Plus, the tall flat windshield stands out- that's the Easy-Fold Down glass we've been promised !

I am curious if all of the fenders will now be body color painted and have the Black Plastic Trim around the bottom and front edge of them?

You know at first I thought I was kind of excited about the Fender LED strips....now I am kinda thinking they look tacky. Plus if the turn signal is now going to be removed from the Grill as the spy shots have shown...how will that affect those who remove and put on aftermarket fenders. Now your only turn signals would be the Mirrors.

I'm kidding. I kid. I'm a kidder.

But it doesn't seem it was a huge deal with TJs.

Yea the aftermarket will figure it out as far as the turn signals go. Hell I bet even if you had zero front facing turn signals most cops wont even notice, so long as you have them on the side of the fender like the current bushwacker fenders for the JK

Also, notice that the hood styling is pretty similar to the TJ.

Where do you see a windshield? I'm almost positive that there's no windshield on this body because the tarp caves in. One thing we can see though is the indent of the fender vent beginning above the fender. Also, the hood looks good!
