Noticed mine does this to. never even cared to look for an auto off option.

just click the button a couple times. done....

read some ppl say I need to do this and this before driving. get gud at driving. should be able to easily press these while driving. Seems ppl have a checklist of things to do before even moving.
They even take a bit of time to get warmed up so its not like after the gym you will be sitting on a heater. Most stick drivers drive with the hand on the shifter. so its really only 6" away or so.

Auto trans. Don't see how the transmission affects seat heaters. Then again, FCA...
sorry couldn't resist
this thread is and always has been about manual trans vehicles not being able to disable auto seat heaters
apparently there is no option for this in the menu sub structure
I don't have my 19' rubi yet but I sure hope they fix it - cant stand seat heat

Are you sure you don't have it? It's here:

I do not have this option on my 2018 Jeep JLU with manual transmission. You have an automatic and therefore you have that option.

Not equipped if it is a manual.
My jeep is equipped with auto-on driver heated/ventilated seat and steering wheel with vehicle start and it has a manual transmission.

That's exactly the problem! It turns on every time below 40F with no way to stop it.

Some jeeps don't have heated wheel or seats...those are NOT equipped.

That section of the manual references menus in uconnect. My meaning of "not equipped" is that it is not equipped in the uconnect menus, not that you can't have heated seats/wheel. I wasn't aware of any ventilated seat options though. I'd have gotten leather instead of cloth if that were an option in 18.

lets recap this for the ppl that keep mentioning Auto here

  • Auto on driver heated seats and steering wheel can be on AUTO and STANDARD vehicles if equipped
  • AUTO ONLY - has an option in the UConnect to disable this feature
  • STANDARD - does not have the option to disable the feature.

Hello Everyone,

I confirmed per our internal sources that this feature is operating as intended. The heated seats/steering wheel are intended to automatically turn on in temperatures below around 40F for all vehicles equipped with Auto Comfort Systems, but the setting to turn the Auto Comfort systems On/Off is only built in for vehicles with automatic transmissions. For those with manual transmissions, you will need to manually turn the heated seat and steering wheel on or off once you enter the vehicle if it has already activated because of the colder temperatures. We are not currently aware of any plans to add the On/Off option for those vehicles with manual transmissions. If any one has further questions, please feel free to send us a PM!

Thanks Jennifer for your reply,...

It makes sense to say that it is working as intended.

What does not makes sense is that the option to turn this automation (heated seats and steering wheel) off is ONLY available on vehicules with automatic transmission.

Can you explain why this is customizable on vehicule with automatic transmissions and not on vehicules with manual transmissions ? Does the transmission need the seats to be heated ? :)

Thanks.

Hi Gilles,

Unfortunately I can't say exactly why it is set up this way - the information we were relayed was simply that this is the intended design and function for these features for automatic versus manual transmissions. I apologize that I don't have more details regarding this design to share with you.

Do you have any information on who we could complain to get this feature changed?
