Between the newer model year, which means less of a depreciation hit, and the trail camera and the higher gear ratio on the 2021 3.0 it was kind of a no brainer. I also didn't want to purchase a lemon and figured if they still haven't sorted out what is wrong with it, I don't want it.

The new steering box is the cherry on top.
Higher gear ratio?

Higher gear ratio - what did I miss?
That's my question as well. I thought (assumed actually) that both 2020/2021 had 3.73 rear axle ratio. The 2020 configurator indicates 3.73 and my 2021 build sheet says 3.73 as well.

I wonder why Jeep's "build it" configurator is still based on the 2020 model year? Only 2021s are available, and they have already started deliveries to purchasers. The only 2020s out there are the ones "stuck" in the pipeline (sorry 2020 waiters).

As per other threads on the forum, and my own experience, the 2021 Build Configuration Tool is available now. In the tool, it shows 4.10 now for the diesel. I don't know if this is an error or a change, but I'm hoping it's a change.

This is a screenshot of both the 2021 configuration tool and the 4.10 Axle Ratio.

Until they get rid of all 2020s on dealer lots it will be 2020 plus when all dealers get 2021s they will add 2021 to the build and configure.

Looks like all the 2021 build sheets say 3.73.

But the 2021 build and configure does show the 4.10 as the only gear with the diesel Rubicon.
Which is true?
Willys diesel is 3.45. Sport 3.45. Sahara 3.45.

Crypto Update;

JW1: Complete!
Getting home from a weekend of camping and being off-line. Love the news that came in over the weekend! My dealer said delivery to rail yard (Kent, WA) is expected on 9/10, and then anyone's guess when the jeep makes it to dealership.

Seen them get that far out in 5 days and some in 3 weeks. Couple of friends were told theirs were about to make it to the dealer then told they were still sitting in Toledo. Just saying a lot of variables to actual date of drop. A friend had hers sit in the dropyard for almost 3 weeks because not enough workers and trucks to clear out the yard.

On the optimistic side a guy got his to western Oregon in 5 days and to the dealer a couple of days later. i'll put odds it will be to the dealer by Halloiween.

As it shows on the prelim 2021 build and config the diesel with the automatic pair only shows the 3.45 standard with no other gear options. But the build and config is not a full order guide instead a search tool for finding dealer inventory and a general list for custom orders. The dealer can say what full options are available using the ordering tool.

Crypto non-update:

Nothing exciting to report. There were 2 completes since my last update yesterday. Both are 2020s and likely dealer orders converted to sold orders or just bought off the lot and buyer wanted to see the build sheet.
