Anybody seen info on the new JL Unlimited hard top if there are going to be any more removable panels for the passenger seats? Also will the rear windows be removable like the electric slide back roof? Haven't seen much info for this yet. Thanks.

Freedom hard top is basically exactly the same but Jeep has said it is 20% lighter.

The back windows do not come out

The freedom panels are still only over the front row

Bummer that it's essentially the same. Seeing the new soft top and how much easier it is I might just go with it.

Yeah I love the ease of the soft top but don’t really like the look of plastic windows. Might opt for the power top. I wish the rear window was removable on that thing

I wish that FCA had taken their MySky technology from the Renegade and incorporated it into the new Wrangler: possibly 3 panels for the JLU, if only 2 for the JL and JT--at least as a hard top option.

Well the power top is out. You can not remove it from the vehicle.

Actually you can fully remove the power top. Jeep just recommends that you leave it on

I imagine the aftermarket will supply soft top panels with glass windows that can be attached to the existing soft top.

That's my hope as well. It would make it easier to use the soft top in the winter as well. Maybe they could have a defroster in the rear window that hooks to the factory wiring too.

Removing the hard top can be a pain by yourself. Too big and bulky, and you have to have somewhere to store it.
