JL Spare Tire License Plate Mount

Was driving up to a ski mountain the other day and when I got out of my Wrangler the license plate holder had snapped and was hanging down from the wires. Lucky it didn't fully fall off, but the metal was thin enough to snap which wasn't great.

Does anyone have a recommendation of what JL Spare Tire License Plate Mount I should get that is sturdy and (preferably) has an LED light? Any recs would be greatly appreciated!

You can get Motobilt one with a light as well I think.

Another vote for Motobilt. I used a Billet Specialties frame with license plate and third brake lights.

I don't run it, but the LOD Offroad relocation kit looks sturdy. At least, it wouldn't fail the same way yours did. Looks like the LEDs don't come with but they sell them separately. Or you can probably find similar for 1/2 the price on Amazon.

I use the TeraFlex license plate bracket with the hinge reinforcement. I did have to extend the license plate light wires to make it less annoying to remove (for me).

I went with the ARB unit. You do have to drill out new holes for a US plate and I ended up getting another light, to combine the 3rd brake light and the tag light. Also with aftermarket wheels, it needed bending to clear the wheel. I found This on Amazon and wired them together to a 4-wire quick disconnect so it's easily removed to take off the spare.

Save yourself some money, use zip ties! You can get a T10 outlet pack and T10 bulbs on Amazon for half the price you'd pay for the cheapest wheel license mount.

I did this with my rear license plate after running through a few different license plate holders. Zip tied it to my rear bumper and wired the light myself and zip tied the light in place. Works great no issues for the last 6 months I've been running it.

Looks like I don't have any good close-up photos, so this will have to work until I get off work this afternoon.

I bought this from Quadratech: Quadratec LED License Plate Light for 18-21 Jeep Wrangler JL | Quadratec, then I zip tied and wired my plate onto the spare. The holder has a quick connect to the original plate plate light connection. Here is an after pic: As you can see, the LED light is on the bottom. I ran the wires from the left rear (where the original connection is), behind the bumper, then up to the light. There is just enough wire to open the tailgate fully. If this interests you, I can get pics today.
