I think the ADD bumper and spare tire carrier looks the best. I also like that their rear bumper is compatible with the back up sensors. What I don’t like is the cost of both pieces. $1000 for the bumper and $1360 for the tire carrier.
its nice but theirs got to be away to get the cost down. your average jeep owner cant or doesn't want to spend 2300 for the rear alone. Also correct me i am wrong but i thought i heard someone say with ths set up you might lose your rear camera. if thats right who will want to do that

When I saw the price for just the tire carrier I had to look twice. I thought I misread it and that price included the bumper. Lol. I had a Smittybilt XRC bumper and tire carrier on my JK with a very heavy 37x13.50 Toyo MT on it. It looked good and worked great. I think it was around $600-700 for everything

Maybe I should learn how to weld and fabricate and start selling bumpers and rock sliders. LOL

Exactly! This is very well made bumpers you can tell and it's probably worth it for the research and Hardware you're getting I just don't need something like that they're out the desert and they like the smaller bumper the guy told me cuz they run the desert they're just too skinny and small for me on the rear bumper to begin with

I have 35 inch Nitto Ridge Grapplers with 20 inch Fuel Assaults been on stock for about 2 weeks and no issues so far.

Do I need a tire carrier? Will the extra weight do any severe damage?

Probably need the reinforcement plate... one of the builds on here creased the tailgate at 4K miles.. pretty sure the Nitto and 20’s will damage it. I went with 37KO2’s at 71#’s and DV8 Beadlocks @ 29#’s and went with relocation and reinforcement brackets from Mopar.. spendy but I don’t want to wait.

I checked the weight of your setup and the wheel is 49# and the tire is 76.5.... I would definitely install the reinforcement gate IMO....

I like some of the ADD products for trucks, just haven’t been all that impressed with their Jeep products. Seeing that this set up costs over $2300 for the bumper carrier is just plain a rip off, though I’m sure some fool with more money than brains will buy it. The biggest flaw in my opinion is the use of heim joints instead of a greasable spindle on their tire carrier hinge. Probably not a problem in out west in the arrid environments that don’t see much rain or other weather conditions the rest of the country see’s. One winter in Chicago and won’t get into the back of your Jeep with out disassembling the entire set up.

Thanks for the feedback! Went ahead and ordered the 2 piece mopar tire carrier with reinforcement. It’s been constantly in the back of my head, better safe then sorry!

Thanks again!

It isn't clear to me how they maintained the backup camera functionality with this tire carrier. Did anyone figure it out?

No, but who wants a tire carrier that gets rid of your backup camera??? This has been my question from the beginning, how will the aftermarket maintain its functionality?

I have the stock steel bumpers so I was thinking to find a carrier and mount it using the stock steel bumper. I need to find a carrier that has a small narrow mounting base and one that can be locked to the gate so it can swing open with it so the back up camera can be used. This ADD rear carrier seems like it could be fitted to the stock bumper with minor modifications, but that price point is ridiculous, its $1639 shipped with the camera mount.... YIKES! :giggle:That isn't happening.

Yes they are very nice bumpers from that company and they're American-made and that's great but I bought stuff that's made overseas on my JK now and they're very nice quality. things have changed now lot of companies that do overseas now do a lot of good quality control I prefer to buy American-made but money is money if I can save some money I'm going to I'm not paying $1,000 for a front bumper thousand dollars a rear bumper and $1,000 for the carrier that's a $3,000 with them that's just crazy I think it's too small anyway look at the rear bumper how skinny is. Jcr Offroad and Iron Cross is coming out with some really nice ones by the end of month I said
