Has anyone tried to fit the JL soft top inside a 4-door with the hard top on? Not necessarily in its mounted position, just in the back say if you had a need to bring both a soft top and hard top to the dealer? I know it came that way in a huge coffin size box, but I can't recall if any construction has been required that would make it "bigger." Thanks!

I believe the rails and door surrounds on the soft top would prevent the hard top from attaching to the Jeep itself, even if you had the top itself down. Now if you were to take your soft top in to a dealer and want your hard top on, you would have to remove the hardware and put it in the cargo area.

I see no reason why it wouldn’t fit in the back with the seats down. The only thing assembled were the door surrounds and they’ll fit. The top and frame are just as big as when it was in the coffin.

Yup, works just fine. I store my hard top offsite (at inlaws' house in their basement) and so I bring the soft top over to their place so I can assemble all at once. Just throw the rails, etc, in the back separately.

Thanks, I came to that conclusion after watching the installation video I used to install the hard top when I got it a year ago. I just know that on my JK it was impossible to get the soft top insider for transport unless it was sitting like it was installed, which required removal of the hard top. I don't think that is the case with the JL and I think that is a nice improvement!
