Nice! I'll be curious to hear how quickly they issue your check. I was really surprised when I got a notice of the check being sent less than an hour after the Jeep was picked up. That seemed to imply the driver did all of the inspection needed. He did walk around and take a bunch of pictures. I wonder if some drivers are trained to do the inspection on site to speed up the process. 🤷‍♂️
I'm in pucker factor mode now, waiting on that notification!
Driver said it would be delivered to Statesville, NC today.
They just loaded it yesterday evening and had me sign the bill of lading.
Vroom said a picture of that would get the process started.
If I don't hear anything by this afternoon, I'm on the horn with them!

Yeah I contacted givemethevin to sell to a few weeks ago and they contacted me today offering even more for the Rubi. Only problem is who knows when I will get my new one delivered. At this rate looks like spring to me. The offered me 47 to 49k before, not sure what they are offering now just yet. If I had something worth driving would probably go ahead sell.

Who knows what it will be worth come Spring. 🤷‍♂️

Still no email from Vroom.
Just called the transporter, they verified they dropped it off this morning.
Supposedly there's a Vroom lane that it gets directed to, where someone scans the VIN.

One unnerving thing, is I no longer see it when I log into my vroom account.
I would have thought it would have shown status of it.
I can hear my wife saying "I told you so!" if they screw me.

They seem pretty reputable though, I am sure they would be out of business by now if a couple cars just poofed into thin air!

That's the tricky part!
I'll tell you this, it will be a relief getting it sorted before the new one comes.
Spring is a long time away though!

Called the transporter and got the updated BOL showing it was delivered and accepted by Vroom.
Called Vroom and got confirmation they received it and a confirmation #

Vroom said up to 3 days before I get notification on payment.

Hopefully all turns out well on the other end.
Stay tuned!.......

I don’t know how you people do it. No vehicle would ever leave my driveway without being paid for. No exceptions.

I agree. Although I am not a dealer, I buy and sell a lot of cars (I have a bad habit according to my wife). NO way I would ever let a car leave my possession without full payment. There are too many people that are professional scammers and it is just to easy to wake up in your own nightmare.

I have a friend that lost (a car worth) a few hundred thousand dollars to a car business that was running a scam. That was almost 10 years ago and he is still out the money and admits he will never get it back. Yep, a few hundred thousand dollars all because he broke the golden rules; Trust no one and possession being 9/10s of the law.

Just a word to the wise and my .02 Keep the change.

Try a different dealership. Depends on what they want/are looking for.

I wanted to trade/sell my JLUR in July.

Dealership A: 50k offer
Dealership B: 53.5k offer

Went with dealership B.

In September I wanted to trade in my RAM. I initially went to dealership B first based on the previous offers/sale. Dealership B jerked me around, lied about AP being included in the quote, and lowballed the trade in.

I went to dealership A the following day. They were 6k higher on trade in and honored AP.

Same two dealerships but completely opposite experiences each time.
I second this.

When I traded my '19 JLUR, dealers were $17k off from each other on 50k.

I feel ya.
You're with my wife on that!
I think it's a bad way of operating, and I am a nervous wreck waiting for that check.
But, it was $3,000 more than the next highest offer.

I found this thread while agonizing over what to do.
People that had real life experiences with them say they stood behind their deal.
At best, check was in hand within a week.
At worst, it took some calls and follow ups, but they still came thru.
I didn't want to leave $3,000 on the table.
The negative experiences were just here-say.
I hope I am not the first real life case of getting royally screwed by them.

If so, I'll let ya all know!

As it was getting loaded on the trailer, one of the neighbors (who's also a car guy) just shook his head. "NOW what are you getting?!"

They were my best offer too. I don't think I can get over the send it away thing.

I'll keep y'all posted, good or bad.
If bad, it will be from the doghouse after my wife runs me out there with "I TOLD YOU SO!"

Carvana guy got out of his car and handed me my check. Didn’t even look the vehicle over, but it was in perfect condition.

I would consider any of the big 3, but my experience with Carvana was perfect.

They sold the vehicle 2 weeks later for $600 more than they paid me. All the books said they paid me dealer retail.

Couldn't have been happier.

I'm thinking I'm going to rip off my Tyger side steps I love tonight, then we'll list it on the FB marketplace. I've heard people aren't going 24 hours...

Especially with the Bikini Pearl, I'll throw it out on the Blue Jeep Krew and Bikini Pearl groups too.
